You are 100% correct—winning game 1 definitely puts you in the driver’s seat…. And I don’t really understand that the outfield plays as big as it does and we are lined up like we are.

I've searched the web but can't find what Earl stands for. I know it's for the opposition pitcher, but what do the letters stand for? Earl Campbell? Earl of Briton? Enemy At Right Left? I have no clue.
Oh I know. But game 1 is not necessary more important than game 2. Going 1-1 in the first two lands you in the same place. Winning the first 2 is critical, but yes 1 at a time.
