I guess I missed that. Refer me to that post. Sorry that happened, that is highly inappropriate. If that happened to my kid - at least if it was excessive - I would have raised holy hell.

People are starting to push back against him. Why alienate MORE voters? Desantis just isn't having a good year for election purposes. Part of the Make America Mississippi program.

If sexual orientation and gender identity is a discussion that lasts more than two days in AP Psychology (a whole unit on that crap?), there was a problem with the course's structure to begin with.

If you don't like the effects of the law, there are presumably 49 other states who don't have this issue.

Personally, if you can't teach AP Psychology without spending THAT much time on sexual orientation and gender identity. Oh well. Life goes on I guess.

It seems that per your own admission, the libbies are indeed the experts. Teachers, after all, are degreed, certified and experienced before they enter the profession. They study subject matter, theory, and pedagogy, before and while entering the classroom in field experiences. Those field experiences are multiple and varied, according to the discipline and state requirements. In my state, teacher candidates are required by law to spend 100 hrs in classrooms prior to student teaching, which is a semester-long experience in itself.

Then there are licensure requirements, including content exams, pedagogy exams, and core subject exams. Portfolios are required by nearly all states and for some, that's in the form of a teacher performance assessment administered by the Pearson Corporation, which I assure you is anything but a libbie organization. All states have a combination of these requirements. So by and large, teachers are indeed experts who should be trusted with educating children in the U.S.

Says who? You? Desantis? This is another loser in a long line of losing policies OUTSIDE of FL. Don't screw with my kids GPA/transcripts/AP classes/IB/College Credits

At least DeSantis was elected by the people of Florida and is directly accountable to the people of Florida.

Don't screw with my kids' upbringing.

Academia lost its marbles a long time ago. There is such a thing as too much progressivism. You can do a lot of damage to an institution by attempting to improve it in areas it doesn't need change. This is a great example.

    So cute and pompous.
Davis, you should read back over your last couple of posts to me. I mean you couldn’t be more blind and liberally insulated.
It’s as if you’ve lost all ability to be objective.
Then you tell me to just trust the liberals. Is this the twilight zone or what.

Glad that you think that DeSantis and the DOE are in the wrong here. We’ve taught AP Psychology for years in the state of Florida with no problem.

That or this is a truly clueless post.

DeS' Don't say gay law was not made due to any AP Psych class change, nor was it made to address any researched in institutional issues in education. It was invented to garner votes as an answer to an imaginary enemy to the gullible right. There was never any evidence produced of systemic problems in Florida's educational system.

By teaching AP psychology? Which isn't even a required course, it's just something people elect to take?

The assault on public schools by the right wing nuts is one of the most profane missions they have undertaken. It is a crusade right out of the dark ages. Inquisitions, witch burning, and exorcisms in plain sight. Morons.

The evidence is in the parents. Trust is hard thing to win back and keep.
The liberals have overplayed their hand. We get that you hate the pushback.
Probably just another libbie who isn’t a parent and wants to dictate to other children’s education.
    Sick.
