This will be a new feeling for them but Georgia has a pretty tough road with Bama on the schedule. Our SOS will probably be higher with lsu and uga on it. disappointed we dropped Carolina as I liked playing them way more than miss state.
fwiw, the new 2024 Georgia schedule. They definitely didn’t get off light, for once. Clemson Tenn Tech U Mass Georgia Tech vs Florida @ Alabama Auburn Miss St Tennessee @ Kentucky @ Ole Miss @ Texas
Yep, Oklahoma got screwed too. And our 2024 schedule has to be the hardest in the nation, with out a doubt...
In my honest opinion, based on absolutely no info other than my own observations, if both ‘23 and ‘24 result in 6-6 regular seasons Napier gets a 4th year unless he has lost the locker room or there are clear internal issues plaguing the team. At that point however the top boosters and donors would have taken the reins away from Stricklin and put him on notice along with Napier. 2025 must be marked improvement to the tune of 10+ wins, or they are both gone. Either may choose to step away at that point instead of spending the ‘25 season under the microscope and the constant threat of being fired. But those are the risks of the job. If we are ever going to get out of this hire/fire cycle I believe we need to give Napier a minimum of 4 years. In return Napier needs to show improvement. Better than 6-6 in year 3 is not a ridiculous expectation on the part of Gator Nation.
All depends on if Stricklin is still here. Otherwise, I agree. Napier needs 4 full years. I don’t know if he will get them or not.
Biggest game we're missing? Georgia at Texas A&M: I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see Georgia and Texas A&M play an SEC game at Kyle Field. Yes, I know it will happen at some point. But the Aggies have been a member of the league since 2012, and the Bulldogs have yet to visit College Station. Part of the excitement of the new-look SEC is seeing an established power like Georgia go from its own football-obsessed state into another football-obsessed state like Texas. And now that Bobby Petrino is back in the league as Texas A&M's offensive coordinator, seeing his offense go up against Kirby Smart's defense would make for high drama. -- Low
I don't know Rick. Alabama & Clemson are worse than Miami & Georgia. Is UCF better than both Auburn & Ga Tech next year? I expect Hugh Freeze to field a tough team in 2024. Ga Tech beat Pitt at their place and upset NC last year, but I don't know what to expect from them in 2024. But like UCF and us, Ga Tech hates the Bulldogs. Our easiest game overall is really Samford (maybe). Our easiest SEC game appears to be Miss Stake. But the poodles get them too. Biggest loser Georgia: Bye-bye Vanderbilt. So long Missouri. There will be no more running roughshod over a down SEC East for Georgia. The Bulldogs will face a gauntlet as the conference goes division-less with Florida in Jacksonville, Auburn and Tennessee at home, and road trips to Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss and Kentucky. -- Scarborough Alabama: Good luck finding any easy schedules in 2024, but Alabama's road slate is brutal. Not only do the Crimson Tide have to play at LSU, Oklahoma and Tennessee within the conference, but they also visit Wisconsin the second week of the season in a nonconference game. The "good" news is that they get two-time defending national champion Georgia at home. -- Low
Napier is getting screwed with the 24 schedule. This year I don't see many wins but I thought we would explode in 24. Now, I think Napier has to get to the 25 schedule before we can really evaluate him. But it is going to be really hard to recruit if we keep getting 6-6 seasons.
Well, if they actually try to put a successful football team on the field, they may win a game once in a while
It’s going to be much harder from here on out. Having cupcakes to make your schedule look better doesn’t make a team any better anyway.
I guess Covid messed up the trip they were supposed to make there but it should have happened in 24 as it was an open schedule and that game is due.
Miami, FSU, UCF - It would be sweet to whip all three. Nice sweep of the state and some serious bragging and recruiting rights if UF could pull it off.
They are our competition for FL recruits. I wish we were really competing with Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU for FL recruits.
I would gladly switch schedules with Alabama. Accept no complaints from those Gulf-water red yeast infection fans.
