This actually makes sense because they align here. Just wonder how many would truly be willing to vote Republican considering how that party has demagogued them for twenty plus years. Still, you have to start somewhere. The GOP’s new Muslim outreach | Semafor
GWB courted Sami Al-Arian and the like in 2000 over surveillance and likely won the Oval Office as a result
Ironically enough they do align with respect to a desire to control their chattel aka women. ( at least the more hardline fundamentalist elements of each).
...at least the GOP remains the Big Tent party (while the Democrat party remains the circus tent party, with a startling homogeneity of like minded clowns).
I know it seems like the philosophies would align but the majority of muslims that are here are not the ones in the middle east that are against homosexuality and abortion. There are some here that would like to see Sharia but I don't think it's anywhere near a majority of them.
Here's what I found for 2020. And what of the assumption that Muslims couldn't support this party or president? "Just like any other group of people, it is wrong to assume that Muslims in America are a monolith," he said. "Americans of Muslim origin come from different backgrounds, come with different values, and they vote for different reasons. And their reasons may not be any different than any other American's. You know, many people vote based on bread and butter, kitchen-table issues: jobs, education, taxation and certainly immigration." In fact, Trump appears to have gotten more, not less support from American Muslims. Associated Press exit polls show 35% of Muslims voted for Trump and 64% for Joe Biden. A separate poll from a Muslim civil rights group found that 17% of Muslims voted for Trump, but that was still up by 4 percentage points from its poll in 2016. Muslims make up a small percentage of the population, but their vote is key in states such as Michigan. It's a state where Biden won by about 155,000 votes. Trump won Michigan in 2016 by under 11,000.
That's rich considering the gop " platform" if you can call it that is whatever the orange god says it is.
love the sarcasm! from link Donald Trump appealed to LGBTQ voters by pledging to protect them from a “hateful foreign ideology” that he falsely linked to ordinary Muslim Americans. Seven years later, Republicans are wooing Muslim voters by promising to protect them from LGBTQ rights advocates whose demands conflict with their faith.
Are we talking about the same Minnesota that Ilhan Omar and Keith Ellison are from? So what is the big deal about a Republican sucking up to them the Democrats have been sucking off the Minn Muslims for years?
