    Apples to oranges.

There is biblical president for men in that role. It was ordained by God in some instances.

The application of the scripture is something that I do feel has been abused by men over the years.

    1. The term pastor never occurs in scripture.
    2. The term pastor at most modern churches is somewhat that of a dept. management position. (Worship pastor, Outreach pastor, Youth pastor, Senior care pastor, Missions pastor etc.)
    3. I see nothing in scripture tha keeps a woman from any of those roles.

The only arguable one in my opinion is what many call a senior or executive pastor. The scriptures do speak to men as "bishops" which are often interpreted today as "pastor" .

But even then, most of the church rules were written to a specific church for a specific reason, so it can be argued that even biblical definitions are not universal.

For years now, the majority of student bodies of Hebrew Union College and Jewish Theological Seminary has been female. It’s taking a little longer for them to lead congregations.

Is it apples to oranges? They threw out churches that allowed women to be pastors. What did they do to the churches that covered up sexual abuse?

Then the equivalency would be to ban all female bosses.....which actually doesn't seem like a stretch for your brain

Well let's see, how about your statement about women that would reflect support of the logic, then the statement "perhaps there's something to this", and of course hundreds of previous posts reflecting somewhat similar umm viewpoints

I just found out today how the SBC got its start. (And to think I was raised as a Southern Baptist and didn't know. But of course it was never talked about.) It was founded in 1845 over the slavery issue. Pro-slavery, of course. During the past century it was for racial segregation. It apologized for its history in 1995. Hey, it's never too late! Only 150 years after its pro-slavery founding. Now here it is 2023. I guess in another 150 years it will apologize for its attitude toward women.

Sigh. You have no response except to make an assumption because you don’t like my conservative takes.
    Thanks.

Some women do prefer men to be in an authoritative role. That is true whether you like it or not.
I did not say it was right or wrong.
My wife for example has said many times that she does not want to report to a woman ever again if she has the choice.
    Something about bitchiness.

    Of course it is.

One move is an overreaction to a biblical disagreement, but not one that creates a real moral evil.
The other is the church failing in its duty to protect God's children thus creating a moral evil.
