question for those in the know on lady gator swimming

    with katie ledecky already here, and the addition of annie lazor how does this play out in the recruitment of summer mcintosh, if she even wants to go to college? she has swam against katie numerous times at worlds and the olympics and they seem to have a very friendly rivalry relationship, plus i am sure she has swam against lazor, thoughts?

    This is a great question. I assume she is a 2024 recruit. We already have a commitment from #13 ranked long distance swimmer Elise Clift for 2024 and everyone is waiting to see where Katie Grimes, #1 recruit in 2024 and a team mate of our 2023 recruit, Bella Sims, goes to college. Can't get good info from site SwimSwam on international recruits until they commit. Any one else with some info?

    on a scale of 1-10, how does she compare to tracy caulkins and dara torres?

    McIntosh mother swam for UF, one would think that helps as well

    Jill Horstead...87-90, she hung around UF and got her masters after as well. She partially overlapped with Nesty during their college careers so there are lots of ties.

    Summer is the world record holder in the long course (50m pool) 400m and 400 IM. As the IM includes all four strokes, she is very all-around and an absolute stud. So she compares to Tracy in that Tracy was also a world record holder at 16; but, Tracy was an American record holder at all 4 strokes and both IMs hand has won more events at Nationals than any other swimmer so we'll see how Summer's career goes but what a start. First saw Dara at Florida pool as a 16 year old when she beat Jill Sterkel in the 50 free at long course nationals -people were slack jawed at the end of that race - 2 great Gators!!
