Compare this with their vote on the molester pastors. It shows you where SBC's priorities are.

Right there with you as a Catholic. So disagree. Pope Francis is at least working on it, but it will take years long beyond his papacy

A lot of women will say they would rather have a male boss over a female.
    Maybe there’s something to this.

I hope churches aren't thinking of priests as "bosses." Ironically I think that "traditional gender roles" ascribed to women are pretty useful qualities in a pastor.

Of course there is something to this and yes many women seem to prefer the traditional role of house keeper and baby maker.

Nor do I pretend to know the will of the "majority" of women. I do have opinions however and I believe this to be another example of a white male dominated "good ole boys club".

    You are probably not wrong.
It doesn’t bother me who is behind the pulpit as long as they aren’t trans.

Appreciate the feedback. I was in 100% aggreement until you posted that last word.

Neverthless women deserve a better deal in their faith.

I happen to believe that the female is a far superior humanoid than males anyway.

Most organized religions are male dominated systems that oppresses, dismisses, and harms women. The question women need to ask themselves is if they should leave that system, or try to change it from within. Apparently the SBC says women aren’t going to change anything if they can help it.

Almost exclusively true but not always. Certain tribes / cultures over history have embraced women as equals if not superiors.

Sparta comes immediately to mind but there are quite a few others.

I suppose I should have been more clear. I was referring to today’s major religions.

Same. It kills me the way I see Muslims treat women. I'm so offended at this point, I don't even go to church anymore.

I mean there are only like 3 "organized" religions, and I believe Christianity is one of the few with a formal priesthood. I think this has more to do with patriarchy preceding religion. Reinforces older social structures meant to regulate reproduction.

Technically all the major religions have priests but they’re called by different names like rabbis, ministers, mullahs, and Imams.

Yes, but rabbis and Imams are just informal teachers. Those religions dont have anything like the SBC or a pope, bishops, parishes or whatever.

Oh well, those women-led churches are better off without them. The SBC, and the evangelicals in general, will continue to shrink into irrelevancy because of stuff like this.
