The final add to the 2022-2023 MBK roster: https://247sports.com/college/flori...international-signee-Gators-roster-211575538/ Kajus KUBLICKAS at the FIBA U18 European Championship 2022 - FIBA.basketball Side note: It must be bring an International Recruit to the UF Campus Day today. This makes three today and the day is still young. They include an OL from Germany, a swimmer from Ireland and now a basketball player from Lithuania. Gator Nation is truly everywhere!
So, looks like he shot 38% on 3s with one club this past year, and 45% with another. He can knock 'em down.
Kevarrius Hayes on his Lithuanian Team! I was just watching some highlights hoping to see Kajus, when I was like, "Wait - I know that player!" I rewound and loled at the lithuanian "Kevaaaadious Hayes" Here's Kajus opting for the floater when he couldn't get the lob to Hayes (then the Hayes dunk that caught my attention):
Holy smokes! I have to believe that Kevarrius had something to do with putting him in touch with the Gators.
Yeah - seems *really* coincidental otherwise. But I won't pretend to understand euro hoops and how big or small it is to network.
You never disappoint. Don’t change. Technically, we have one traditional point guard, Pullin, who is a super senior. Denzel is basically a combo. Clayton is at this stage, too, but we definitely want him to have more opportunities at the one. Knowing nothing at all about this kid, in principle it is a good take. You need a point guard next year, you have an extra slot this year, and you expect to have at minimum 3 spots available next year (Pullin, Samuel, Jarvis), though we are certain to lose more in this day and age.
My thought too. Seems to have a good radar for the basket & for his teammates. Wouldn't expect him to do much in 23-24, but I'd like to hear what @tampajack1 thinks based on this video.
108 said he has a little John Stockton in him. Watching the vid, I can see that. Like Stockton, he's economical with his moves, doesn't do a lot of leaning, and has his head up and looking for the open guy.
I can’t evaluate him based on that video. I trust Golden’s ability to evaluate talent, although, in hindsight, he struck gold on last season’s portal only with Will Richard. I like Szymzyzk, although most of our other posters don’t. I also like Aberdeen. We could find video of Nimrod Tishman that is better than the video of this kid. We will have to wait and see.
I also think Shimmy can be a solid collegian. In his few appearances early in the season, he looked waaayyy out of his league. But when he got real minutes after CC went down, he was clearly much improved and looks like he can box out and rebound, and certainly can make 3s when open. That said, he may only get spot duty again this season. Lots of experienced bigs on this team.
