I don't know if anybody mentioned it already, but congratulations to UF's Track & Field team for winning the NC.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES: Florida is one of two programs to win at least one national team title in each fully contested season since 2008-09. This is Florida's 26th national title in that span and second of 2022-23. Men's golf closed May winning its fifth NCAA team title. This is the ninth season in that span Florida won two or more national team titles. Gator men's outdoor track & field claims Florida's 47th national team title. Men's outdoor track & field is one of four Gator teams with five or more NCAA team titles – women's tennis (7), men's outdoor t&f (6), men's golf, men's indoor t&f (5). Sixteen Gator sports have won national team titles. That is the nation's fourth highest array of sport titles for a program (and highest east of Mississippi). Florida's 16 leads Southeastern Conference programs (Georgia is second with national titles in 10 NCAA sanctioned sports). Since 2008—09 season, Florida's 26 national titles have come in 12 different sports. Stanford and UCLA also with national titles in 12 different sports in that span.
With our 47th Natty, we're closing in on.... 49 - North Carolina 50 - LSU 50 - Arkansas 52 - Oklahoma State 53 - Penn State 55 - Texas
UNC dominated women’s soccer and their numbers are skewed because of that. Same with OK State and wrestling. Arkansas probably has 90% of theirs in track and cross country. Out of that list, LSU and Texas are probably the most well-rounded athletic programs.
Did the Gator runner slow up just before the finish line? The Arizona State guy closed some right at the end.
See my comment above. 90% or more of that is Track and Cross Country. For decades they were the national standard with the best facilities in the sport.
The crazy thing about Arky is that only 7-of-50 Natty's come from the women. And speaking of women, the Texas women just won another track Natty. It's gonna be interesting when Oklahoma & Texas join the league. Gotta hope neither LSU and/or Texas win the Men's CWS. With Texas not making it out of the Super Regionals in baseball, that leaves LSU. We might just get a chance to control whether LSU wins.
