I appreciate your take here Shaun.

But i have to ask--is there a clean way to fight cancer?

Does pretending you don't have it, make it so?

...and if you think im talking shit out of my ass, may i politely refer you to a book, that you may understand that I am not engaging in hyperbole here?

(just posted this in other thread, so I had it on my clipboard--and I'll share the same comment about it--IMO, this would be celebrated and awarded Pulitzer prize and such--alas, that would result in biting the hand that feeds, and so it languishes in the fringes).

Exactly this. The GOP stands for nothing. Only against Democrats.

You mean: The GOP stands for nothing. Only against [the Chicom puppet party] Democrats

Well, maybe that's all the big tent GOP can unite on, but that's better than being pro-chi com puppet master.

It's hilarious and sad that Repubs top 2 choices by far are also the sorriest 2 choices by far. That party is totally hopeless.

Oh I am quite sure the Dems have rape victims standing in line too, just waiting for the right time.

Why? They can just have Creeper Ron's former HS students talk about him. He's already an unlikable person.

So a US President is shaking the hand of the leader of an authoritarian communist country. Who would have thought.

Not sure there is a clean way to fight cancer, and that assumes we know exactly what type of cancer it is. There are a number of things that are eating away at our ability to remain united. Unfortunately, it seems to me that many of our citizens have lost their way, and that includes our politicians. Common decency, manners, discipline, empathy are becoming lost virtues. I believe the quest for personal power and gain has blinded our politicians, and they struggle to succeed and inspire because they have little in the way of true leadership qualities and capability. And that goes for both the right and the left.

"Don't judge a book by its cover."

--someone probably famous, who knows when...

I was referring to the 300 or so pages that follow that image, not the image itself, which is of the cover of the book.

In a paroxysm of post-indictment support, the GOP will cut a few corners and preemptively name Trump the official Republican nominee for 2024 on the Miami courthouse steps tomorrow.

Just as Republicans are no longer allowed to talk about "family values" and "fiscal responsibility", I hereby ban republicans from talking about "law and order".

Even assuming that the book is accurate and that American entities did make a lot of money trading with China, the trading relationship began long before Biden or even Xi took office. The dirty little not so secret is that American consumers prefer low prices and the country where products are manufactured is more or less irrelevant. Well over a decade I read an article noting if Walmart were an independent country it would be among the largest importers of goods from China. As far as Schweizer is concerned while he does appear to have valid credentials he also has a history of inaccuracies and was recently employed by Breitbart, not exactly indicative of a trustworthy writer.
Schweizer has been criticized for reporting inaccuracies and for making conclusions not supported by facts. Two Sunday Times reporters following up on his reporting in his second book, Friendly Spies, discovered that meetings described by Schweizer did not check out, that named sources did not exist or could not be found, and that there was no Paris Sheraton Hotel during the time period when the meetings allegedly took place.[18][46][47]. Schweizer admitted he overreached in attacking Hillary Clinton's purported role in approving a Russian uranium deal and falsely claimed that then-Secretary of State Clinton "had veto power" to stop the Russian State Atomic Nuclear Agency (Rosatom) from purchasing Uranium One. During a May 5, 2015, Politico podcast interview, Schweizer admitted that "veto is probably not the best word" and "what I meant by veto power was as we explain the process, you know, if somebody objects it kicks in the special investigation."[48]. In a 2015 NBC interview, Schweizer said that Hillary Clinton did not support a nuclear deal with India in 2006 and that she voted for it in 2008, after donations to the Clinton Foundation. PolitiFact rated Schweizer's claims false.[49]
Since you're apparently fond of graphic illustrations here's an example of an American elite who profited from a relationship with China.

I am the same way. Never voted for trump in 16 or in 20 and feel great about that decision. I'm not a fan of a lot of what DeSantis has done lately politically(abortion and disney at the top) but he is infinitely a better candidate than trump. He's not a jackass, dumbass nor an awful human being. But don't worry, the left is trying to say DeSantis is worse than trump lol. They would say that about anyone that's a threat to win the R nomination.

It is ultimately up to the gop primary electorate to pick their nominee (not the media, not the D party, not even Soros), and at this point it sure as hell looks like the gop electorate will be choosing Trump.

Nope. Trump and DeSantis stand out as especially horrible. DeSantis is potentially worse than Trump because he is more competent and more focused on achieving his autocratic goals (and his stated goal of destroying leftism). But it's up to Repubs to choose and it looks like they will choose Trump no matter what. So your beef should be with Republicans and not Dems.

LOL. My beef is with both parties. They have given us two straight elections of awful people. Biden, Hillary and Trump are all awful people. Trump is worse than the other two but make no mistake Hillary and Biden were awful candidates. I disagreed with some of Obama's policies but he is a good person and isn't a jackass. Been a while since either party has put up a good candidate. And yes the media wants Trump. First for ratings, second it ensures biden wins because anyone with a brain knows trump can't win.

The media plays a huge roll. You can think otherwise and be wrong but that's your choice. Media wants trump as it ensures ratings for the next few years. But ultimately it's on the R voters to not be stupid which i'm not convinced will happen.

As long as Trump is running the media will capitalize on his candidacy as they did in 2015/2016 although not nearly so much as they did seven years ago as evidenced by coverage of his MAGA rallies. Back then even CNN and MSNBC covered the rallies in their entirety. Now only Newsmax (not even Fox) covers the rallies in their entirety. While they may cover Trump the MSM definitely does not want Trump as the GOP nominee much less as the president.
