Why do Republicans keep committing crimes?

It is interesting the #2 guy has also possibly been involved in a cockamamie criminal scheme, but it is what it is. Those are the facts.

Most of the other candidates don’t seem to have issues, it obviously isn’t *normal* to have those issues. In a strange way, Desantis needs to keep up with Trump and his “own the libz” stunt may have been a crime. It’s almost like having to earn street cred. Ironically, Christie was critical of Desantis yet he probably should have seen some consequences himself for Bridgegate, although that case fell apart as I recall.

Sadly principled Republicans like John McCain, Mitt Romney or even Asa Hutchinson represent a minority of the party.
GOP opponent says Trump should drop out after ‘disrespect for the rule of law’
The reality is that the majority of Republican office holders as well as Republican candidates and voters believe that Donald Trump should be an exception to the adage that no person should be above the law.

Wow, that's quite some spin. On the other hand, we should all be embarrassed that the top 2 republican contenders have engaged in such questionable activity that one is currently under indictment, and the other has people wondering if he's crossed the line into kidnapping or trafficking.

This exact same statement has been made by literally every banana republic. Especially when the activity in question can be applied to both sides of the aisle.

Except it can't. That's the dishonesty of your stance. Trump isn't being prosecuted merely because he kept some documents he shouldn't have. Trump is being prosecuted because he kept some documents he shouldn't have and then when the feds asked him to return them, he lied to everybody under the sun (including the feds), actively concealed them from the authorities, showed them off to people who weren't allowed to see them, and bragged about it like an idiot.

At what point are we allowed to charge a former President or a Republican frontrunner with a crime? Because this is America. We don't have royalty. Politicians aren't above the law.

If the DOJ had half the case against Hillary they have against Trump, they would have indicted. They didn't and still don't. Facts are, most of the emails were classified post receipt. Many emails Hillary sent were notices that to talk about classified materials, the conversation would have to be moved.

Have you read the Trump indictment yet? It's appalling. Makes what Hillary is accused of seem like peanuts.

So you think Trump made the decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton personally?

I think Trump’s legal team will argue he took the documents at a time when it was perfectly legal for him to declassify anything he wanted to and while he didn’t technically declassify them, he had a right to declassify them and are we really going to prosecute ex-presidents over technicality? Even former presidents are privy to future CIA briefings if they so choose, after they leave office.

When you put it in that light, it illustrates the frivolous nature of the charges.

LOL, Trump told his victory party crowd on Election Night that he wasn’t going to go after the Clintons. And repeated that again shortly after he was inaugurated. I mean, most of us intelligent folk who don’t use ChatGPT for everything understood what that meant.

Frivoulous??? Technicality??? We have a classification process for a reason. People likely risked their lives for that information and he deserves to face the consequences of his actions.

Yep, we’re embarrassing ourselves on the world stage. Indicting a former President for doing something he had every right to do. After two failed impeachments and another indictment from a state AG who based her entire campaign on prosecuting him.

As President, he had the right to declassify anything he wanted and can’t be told no. So we’re indicting someone over paperwork that wasn’t filled out when they had the power to declassify anything they wanted to. When you’re talking about an ex-president, ex-most powerful man on the planet, yes, that’s about as petty as it gets.

This simply isn't true. No one is above the security and safety of the Republic. The sheer nature of the documents makes this NOT PETTY. Do you think the nation's top security information should be stacked in a bathroom at Mar-A-Lago? Nuclear secrets? What the heck does he need them for? What is more important Trump or the continuation of America and our FREEDOM?

Pathetic that you would support a man who would take such sensitive documents, refuse to return them, store them haphazardly at his club, and show them to random people.
