    Bottom of a pint glass
I had a GI doctor recommend I take proton pump inhibitors for reflux issues. I declined and instead tried to better manage my stress and diet. By Qs logic, because I decided not to take the PPIs, the only logical conclusion that can be drawn is the doctor never recommended them.

Okay, so your logic is that because a low number of people took the shot, doctors must not be recommending it, right?

I didn’t. I took both shots and boosters because I’m not a moron.

Just dog whistles to conceal their racist dismissal of the doc. Since he's not white like them, his opinion doesn't count--but of course a hundred other excuses will be/were concocted to obscure the true basis for their dismissal.

there's no excuse for this. You've around & know it is pointless to address points with Q. If he starts a thread asserting that 2+2=5, 1000 posts later he'll assert 2+2=5. IMO, you should find a better spot to inject some snark.

Perhaps your reading too much into the text to which it was addressed.

The point wasn't really even the OP.

...just illustrating the baseless allegations of racism cast upon the right by the left, then excusing the baselessness of it, by claiming "dog whistle".

    IOW, a mirror reflection.

    That really needed splainin???

...and you may find this shocking, but many more, than the number of sniveling weasels who subscribe to the veracity and reliability of government vis a vis health issues.

Where did I assume that? I did not assume anything, nor make a comparison. What I said what that I agree that after being fully vaccinated (2 prime + 1 boost 6+ months later) there are no data at all that show you need another shot. That said, you and your anti-vaxx clan have held on to a nearly 24 month old paper that has been superceded by research confirming the COVID damages the CD8+ Killer T-cells (along the lines of an HIV infection) making the host potentially more susceptible to developing severe disease in subsequent infections. Those who were vaccinated before infection show no evidence of degraded CD8+ Killer T-Cell activity. So, again, these vaccines have been wildly successful by any standard and we see yet another benefit of full vaccination for all, as opposed to becoming infected and increasing your chance for worse outcomes in the future.

I agree with you that treating childhood illnesses is not that complicated. However, your story did not address my comments concerning your definition of a "doctor" who would have expert insight on treating COVID-19, preventing severe disease from being infected with SARS-CoV-2.

Again, this did not defend you spurious comment. These are stats showing booster uptake. This does not address your comment that "many doctors are not recommending boosters". Where is that data for you to be able to make that claim?

I am looking at the numbers and the circumstances. You are one of the very few still consumed and controlled by the public health narrative we all see when it comes to these shots. It is not reality.

My logic is you have a new drug. It failed to stop people from getting the disease. The shot says side effects that are unnecessary to deal with and potentially have serious long term consequences. The disease is not that dangerous to most. The newest variants of the disease is even far less dangerous. Seroprevalence shows most people have had the disease.

This is not obesity. Which we know far more about. Funny is that if you focused on obesity…you would do more to protect yourself from infectious diseases (especially Covid) than taking a new shot that does not prevent you from getting the disease.

what exactly are you suggesting with your question. OP is using an inference from the data to draw a reasonable conclusion. May not be right, but it’s reasonable. Neither of you know with any resemblance of accuracy how many Drs tell their patients to get a shot. Any attempt to state this number is 100% pure speculation. But the # of people who actually got the jab is known, within a reasonable degree of certainty. So …. What is more likely: (1) the majority of patients ignoring their Dr, or (2) the majority of Drs ignoring the booster?

I notice you avoided the question. I will ask directly again. Are you claiming that doctors are not recommending Covid vaccines because few people are taking them? It is a yes or no question.

Given that there are tons of surveys that show that doctors overwhelmingly suggest taking the vaccine, it is highly likely that doctors are overwhelmingly suggesting that their patients take the vaccine. For example, this survey of family practice doctors has 82% of family practice doctors agreeing with the CDC's recommendations, as compared to 9% that don't (which is similar to what you see for other vaccines as well).

Survey Outlines FPs’ Challenges on COVID-19 Vaccines

Q is ignoring the fact that patients largely don't listen to physicians about certain costly pro-health behaviors, such as going to a dentist or not being obese. Because that possibility doesn't help his argument. Which is why he is now avoiding direct questions about his logic.

There is no way you actually read the “survey” that you linked. Let me save you and everyone else the trouble. The survey was February 2022. That is too old to use today on this issue as there has been so much data dumping the last 18 months and most is against the efficiency of the vax and booster. But here is the biggest WTF in this poll. It went out to 5000 Drs and got about 275 completed responses back. Less than 6% responded. This means less than 6% of the Dr’s surveyed agreed that vaccine should be taken and/or recommended. There are practice groups in my city that have 30 members, so the response sample size is horrific. Why didn’t more Dr’s respond to the survey? What happened to health care professionals who spoke up against the vaccine?

Doylestown Health chief of cardiac surgery says he refused COVID vaccine, was fired

There are dozens, if not hundreds of published reports of Dr and Nurses getting fired due to their opposition to the vaccine. Is it possible that explains the dismal response rate to this survey? You can’t be fired for remaining silent. In summation, this survey is about as useless as dental floss in Lexington Ky. My point is we will never really know what type of support the vaccine has in the medical community because it is too political.
