Sometimes you just lose a guy that you’re trying to get. It happens to UGA, it happens to Bama, it happens to everyone.

…And Clemson may not be at a “great level” now, but they have been for a pretty long time. Dabo has built more than enough equity over the last 10 years. He still has a lot to sell.

Clemson is an easy sell, he made a mistake sticking with DJU. Get a good QB and D line and he is back winning the ACC and getting a playoff spot.

IF , and I mean IF we can pull J. Smith then that would mitigate the miss of TJ Moore. I feel like as Strangegator mentioned, the full court press on Smith may have contributed to his decision to commit to Clemson.

It's not like Clemson fell off a cliff, they still won 11 games and the ACC last year

Felt like, when you look back on it, Moore maybe wanted Clemson all along since he did everything imaginable bigging up UF but never committed which should of been a sign then especially with Clemson getting his first OV and not UF. It's odd for an uncommitted kid to call a school his leader but they don't get his first OV. He's had the green light to commit to UF since forever and never did it but committed to Clemson a day after his OV finish. Closer close but sometimes a kid is stringing you along too

That's ridiculous. If I'm a projected 1st Rd pick in the 2023/24. I would be holding out for at least 5 figures. That game will make 10's of millions when it comes out.

I agree with the top players, but you can’t pay that kind of money to every single D1 player. That’s a lot of players. 500 dollars to get yourself in a video game for someone who might not even see the field isn’t that outrageous. That’s money for nothin. But I’ll refrain from further comment since I don’t know any of the details.

Agree as well on the top players and could be a little higher. But if everyone is the same, It's not as absurd as it sounds, there's ~1700 nfl player compared to 12,000 college players and then factor in Madden is more popular than the CFB version, also more teams they probably have to pay rights to. Plus if they're using names now instead of just numbers like the old days, it's free name recognition.

    They don't need every player.

They can sign the top talent and fill in the rest of a team with generic players.

i don’t think Smith has anything to do with Moore going to Clemson. Clemson had a 5 star WR commit same weekend as Moore do I don’t think a 5 star going to UF would matter to him.

That would be silly considering three receivers start. There are top receivers that play together all the time. I can see qb but receiver, makes no sense.

I still don't understand why they don't just pay the schools for the use of the logos, stadiums, etc and just make all the players generic. If you do a dynasty they all change after the first year anyway. I never bought the games to pretend I was usering someone specific anyway, but thats just me I suppose.

Or they can fill in all the players with generic players and kill the dream of MANY kids who grew up playing that game religiously of one day being in it. I'm sure many older gators on here won't get the love for that game but let me tell you it was one of the most beloved games on the consoles year after year.

And honestly if they are gonna only do the top players some of which may just go pro the following year why would those players squander the opportunity of the younger guys for greed over another few thousand dollars when they are about to make millions in the league? I don't think a overwhelming majority of the kids care and would probably don't for free just to have there picture and name in a game that MILLIONS will play world wide.
