We have gotten better but so have the other teams. Weren't we out-recruited by 3 of them?

I hate the Noles, but I'll give them some credit, they have built their team up in the last two portal classes (why didn't we even look at Keon Coleman?). I wouldn't call them "not very good" anymore and I have shat on that team for years. They got a squad. On paper they should wash us, but that is end of the season and we will see what each team looks like and what the injury gods have in store.

This is true, but it’s because we are not a great team. Alabama and Georgia are not scared of those pissants no matter who the quarterback is.

I like the way you think. I bought tickets for the Tennessee game, and after that night we will be four an 0..

I don’t guess it really matters whether you run or pass as long as you score. A good running game means less possessions and less turnovers. It just depends on how successful we are. getting behind requires passing but maybe we don’t get behind.

That may be a decent prediction, considering we have no idea what kind of team we are putting on the field. That could be way off or it could be right or we could lose them all.

Our last recruiting class does not suggest we will be improved? What the hell are you looking at?

The one that finished outside of the Top 10 … again. That one.

We were nowhere near the top 10 last year. If we are ranked at all, it would be a huge improvement.

C’mon man. This is the most solid class we’ve had, top to bottom, in a long time. Outside of the Rashada debacle, every single one of them is enrolled, and the majority of them were EE’s. Every one of them is rated four stars or better by at least one of the recruiting services too. This was a very good class.

Uh, the recruiting class is what I was referring to. It was pretty clear in context. We can polish that turd all we want, but it was underwhelming … again. The first one in 2022, we all understood. The second class is usually where you see whether a guy can recruit or not. Well, all I can say is, I hope the ceiling is a lot higher. Because recruiting classes outside of the Top 10 are not going to lead to the improvement we all want to see. I’m not saying that because I like it or because it gives me grim satisfaction. I’m saying it because it’s true. Our enemies are eating our lunch on the recruiting trail and have been for years.

People keep saying no shot at beating UGA, but they lost Stetson Bennett. Very underrated how key he was to their success. We don't know if they are the new Alabama or if they are UF after Tebow. Let's wait and see before we declare them an unbeatable dynasty.

We finished outside of the Top 10 according to every list I looked at. Being 13th or 14th consistently will probably get it done if you’re playing in the PAC-12, but it won’t in the SEC. You know this.

We had a good class last year which should greatly improve our team. If you can’t see tgat you’ve got problems.

I hope you’re right, and I would love nothing more than to sit here eight months from now and say Wanne15 was right, and I was wrong. We can leave it there.

Those kids aren’t going to help much this year. Maybe their second or third year.

Well, there you go then. Back to the original point of this thread. I said it would take huge improvement over last year’s performance to win even two of those games. Then I caveated with the opinion that nothing I saw on the field as the season closed and nothing I see in this recruiting class suggests a level of improvement that could result in us winning two or more of those five games. It sounds like you agree that our recruiting class will not swing the needle this season. And just to pre-empt any unnecessary discussion about whether a recruiting class ever swings the needle in a season, it absolutely does happen. The 2006 class comes to mind immediately. And if we sat here and thought about it, I’ll bet we could come up with lots of other examples. All signs point to this not being a class along those lines. We will see.
