Yeah it's a straight up whiff especially since he publicly called UF his leader. Horrible optics on this one no way around it for sure
I really thought this was a hoax when I first heard it. This was some kind of best ever kept secret, and it really is going to rub wrong with some top players who went to bat for the PGA against their financial interests.
Really? Because my recollection is that we were behind in his recruitment from the start and had to get some momentum to be in his top group despite the geographical advantage. Almost nothing is in the bag with recruiting any more.
The issue I have with negative feedback on recruiting & the program in general is that it largely comes from the usual suspects. The ones that never seem to show up when there is good news …but come out of the woodwork and trip over themselves to point fingers and say “I told you so” when something negative happens. A few of them are just trolls …but some are just turds, within the fan base, that should really just move on to other things in their life that might make them happier.
There’s about 509 othe 4* kids that won’t being coming either. I’m more into the ones that become gators.
UF was his leader. Kid fell in love with Clemson Sometimes it happens. It has went both ways.this one hurts though like losing your prom date.
I think the point is that Clemson had a big recruiting weekend and came out of it with 3 commits. We had our big recruiting weekend and came out with 0. The best programs close their recruits after big weekends.
I get some of what you are saying but, there are homers like me that call every commitment a good one. Yet, I get a come on man when I state the obvious that missing on Moore is a monster Miss. We’ve accepted Bama, Ga, and OSU taking our best and that’s hard to swallow. But when a Clemson program that is not at that great level right now comes in and takes from our back yard that’s a problem.
Clemson didn’t come off of two losing seasons and selling a rebuild. Like it or not, we ain’t top tier just yet. All that to say, we don’t have the leverage to play the same game that Clemson plays…which is commit and shut down your recruitment. We have to dance a different dance to build trust at this point.
Of course it’s a miss, but the sky ain’t falling. We will get ours. I choose to focus on my next at bat instead of my last at bat.
And recruiting rankings for receivers are not exactly correct. Move onto the next guy and find a good one. There are plenty of receivers out there that will probably outperform TJ Moore that are ranked below him. Sure it is possible thatTJ Moore will be elite but maybe not.
