Tony Joiner sentenced in girlfriend's homicide

Another awful waste of two lives, and ruined the lives of their kids.
But only one selfish idiot had a choice in it all.

 

Tragic story, a much-deserved punishment even though it won’t bring back the deceased

 

Wow...he actually killed her on Valentines Day?
And she gave him the money to buy the gun?
Netflix may have to update their Meyer hit piece.

 

Seems like he's getting off way to easy to me.

 

It is called "Swamp Kings" and airs on 8/23. It is not going to be pretty.

 

Why? Did this happen while he was on our football team?

 

Joiner was 30 when he whacked her. That is hardly Meyers's problem.

 

Gators don't like when one of our own screws up this badly. Horrible story. It's upsetting and I think most posters will agree we don't like former players, or alumni for that matter, besmerching the Gator brand.

We had a lot of bad things happen with our players.

 

Well, yeah, we know that. But if it makes the hit piece more sensational, you know they’ll use it.

 

Bingo. I'm no huge fan of Urban, but he is not to blame for a crime that someone else committed...much less something that happened a decade after they parted company. Those who will hate on him will do it because they already hate him or the Gators.

 

Divorce and or a restraining order is always way less expensive than murder.

Isn’t Joiner the guy who caused us embarrassment in 2007 for getting his car towed, breaking into the lot, stealing his own car back, getting arrested and suspended for an important game, and then a bunch of fans threatened the owner until he dropped charges, or something like that?

 

Yes (I dont remember the threats, but wouldn't be surprised). I think it was allegedly his girlfriends car, couldn't help but wonder if it was the same woman

 

Yes, but to be fair, the towing industry in town has been predatory for years and still is.

 

Meyer ain't perfect but both hernandez and joiner did murder after their time at Florida.

 

I remember the towing incident. Did he have any other incidents while at UF?

He also got some press for being caught by the cameras kissing Tebow's ear during a game.

At any rate, this is a tragic story. Nothing will bring back their daughter but I hope the family gets some sense of closure from this.
