To get on next year's ballots, but it's not there yet.

Florida recreational marijuana effort clears crucial hurdle

How will Republican legislators throw a monkey wrench into this if it passes?
    1. Some of the names and addresses on the petition don’t match. We need an investigation.
    2. All weed must be purchased from the state store
    3. We can’t afford to construct stores in this year’s budget. Inhale, and hold your breath till next year.
    4. All weed shop employees must be state certified- but we have no plans to fund that presently.

The possibilities are endless. They will find a way.
The will of the people is what they say it is.

As will many independents and Republicans. I believe, as examples, that Alaska, Arizona, and Missouri all allow recreational marijuana.

Florida is going to have a more difficult time marketing itself as a hotbed of personal freedom if we continue to force people to pay doctors and get government permission to smoke a joint.

We need this to counter the permitless carry. Stoned people usually don’t shoot each other.

    Peace

I believe Dennis Miller made a similar argument about the safety of alcohol versus weed: “You never see a stoned individual breaking a cue stick over someone’s head; he’s too busy laughing at the color of the balls.”

Yes, but Soros is the money behind the entire movement.. I would expect/suspect that all those politicians that support it are also getting funded by Soros too.

Can you even imagine the amount of left leaning voters this will rally to the polls? Worst case scenario for the right. Why? The right in FL will always vote. The last thing you want is an issue that makes red suburban women vote blue and also brings out a ton of voters to the polls. The less participation, the better it is for the right.

Secondarily, form 4473 background check disqualifies you from purchasing a firearm if you are a drug user (unless you lie on the form which is a class 1 felony).

Many more Floridians will, I'm sure, continue choosing Fox News or MSNBC as their drug of choice no matter the legal status of recreational weed in the state.
