Only 42% percent believe the state is headed in the right direction. By my math that's less than half and while 50% believe it is headed in the wrong direction I wouldn't call the undecided 8% exactly an endorsement of Meatball Ron's policies. As I previously stated Meatball Ron's overwhelming victory in the 2022 election was attributable primarily to the drop in Florida's unemployment rate from over 8% to under 2.5% largely as the result of DeSantis's decision to reopen the tourism-based economy of the state following the Covid lockdowns.
Edit: Conceding that DeSantis approval is still at 50% his approval rating has significantly dropped and the trend is in the wrong direction.

And that's in Florida. His Make America Florida slogan has about as much national appeal as Make America Mississippi. DeSantis is too special needs to realize this.

At least it's a step in the right direction. But how much of it is MAGA idiots who formerly approved of DeSantis now disapproving of him because he's Trump's enemy?

this we can wholeheartedly agree on. it will never happen but there should be some sort of test required to demonstrate a basic understanding of the issues and a summary sheet of where each candidate stands on each of the top 10 issues

we have met the enemy and it is us...perhaps this is why voting was originally limited to property owners as property owners had demonstrated an ability to be responsible members of society at that time

I would have to say the poll and article are biased.

They're bitter about Biden's economy and blame it on any government official.

Biden’s economy, if you choose to call it that, is flourishing.

I couldn't agree with you more. The only realistic solution I could think of is removing the R and D from behind the names on ballots. It wouldn't make a difference in a national election, but at least in a local election you have to educate yourself at least slightly on who the candidates are.

EVERYONE saw this coming. He has gone off the rails. His act went sour fast, didn't it. And this is in his home state. People outside of Florida want nothing to do with his culture war. I'm very happy to see people start to push back. Extremism on either side should be met swiftly and harshly.

Great post! Make America Alabama! Make America Mississippi! I left out the part about special needs because that wasn't necessary.

What part of the economy is bad?

Is Biden the one responsible for the trillions in covid $$ that spiked inflation?

    Does he control interest rates?

I guess that explains his low ratings. o_O
....just 33% of American adults say they approve of his handling of the economy
and only 24% say national economic conditions are in good shape, according to a
new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

I was thinking the same thing ... Trumpers turning on him in the early polls, but would probably still vote for him if he gets the nod and Trump doesn't go Independant to spite him.

He's directly responsible for the high inflation he created through his war on energy and reckless spending.

    It's a national poll from left-leaning ABC.
But go ahead and make up your own facts.

I wish this was true, but I think you are grossly optimistic to think his campaign is running off track. I think you have totally underestimated the sheer force of dollars backing DeSantis right now. He is blanketing the target states with ads and promotion, including fluff-coverage by the GOP media. Unless he totally poops the bed in the early primaries, which I sincerely doubt due to the name-brand he carries, his support — in dollars and backers —is only going to grow. Just look at these Boards —posters who don’t agree with him on multiple issues are unabashedly supporting him, because he is the only realistic current GOP candidate that can beat the incumbent Biden.
