Home plate blue needs to stop calling strikes on pitches out of the zone first. He was doing it to both teams.

Is Fic now one of out top 3 relievers? Why possibly burn someone else up when Fic is throwing well and we had a 6 run lead. He threw well just missing when he missed.

 

Shelnut was swinging at pitches way up in the zone…..blue was not calling those. I thought blue called a pretty consistent game. He did give the pitchers just off the black on the outside to righty batters but it wasn’t like 2 balls off the plate like some games and it was consistent towards both teams. Give me an ump like that every game and I’m extremely happy!

But the Gator batters and pitchers spent a whole conference slate and conference tournament playing with a much tighter zone. Tough to adjust to a larger strike zone than you are used to seeing as a batter and hard for a pitcher to take advantage of it as well.

 

You have to adjust to the blues zone every game. I would imagine the umps are scouted as much as the players on the other team so they have an idea what his zone is going to be before the game starts.

 

Waldreps game was a heck of a lot better than just good.

Wasn't able to watch the game but enjoyed the thread here. Thanks, gal, for your effort. I believe I read that it was on SEC Network but the replay on Watch ESPN only shows up on ESPN+ so not watchable for me. Our next game is showing ESPN+ also!

From what the announcer said during the game is that our game this evening against Texas Tech is supposed to be on TV as well and what channel would be announced later

I hope that's right, but there are a bunch of games starting at 6 pm and the 3 places I've looked all show us on ESPN+ only. Hate to not be able to watch. And weather is a concern as well.
