See my other post re how a lineup thread could go 50 pages....because for a lot of this there is no right/wrong answer. You could argue Rivera higher in the lineup, but you probably need him in a spot where he can drive in runs. The bottom of our lineup hasn't consistently gotten on base so Josh wouldn't have as many opportunities for RBI. I personally would move him into the 3 hole since Jac is somewhat all or nothing right now
Playing 2 games tomorrow is going to put a lot of pressure on our bullpen and weather could be a factor.
233— And here I was thinking playing 2 games tomorrow is going to put a lot of pressure on our hitters (and weather could be a factor)…..
Tech is a very good team. They are always good. This was not a surprise to me. Tadlock is s very good coach.
Haven’t swung bat like you’re talking about for a while. I hope your right but not sure what would suddenly change.
— He’s a very solid coach no doubt. But they were only 12-12 in the conference and 6-10 on the road. They came into this regional on 2 game losing streak. This is not your typical red raider team. They are decent, but really nothing special, especially on the road.
Agreed but UCONN has a 39-14 regular season with a team BA of .306. We don’t need to look past anybody.
We had our chances and didn't cash them in. Now it is a very difficult path. While we had a few "brain fart" plays, especially Cags running the bases on Riopelle's drive to the gap that was caught, T Tech also really screwed it up on the Robertson bunt with a committee meeting at home plate and nobody covering third or first. Then we had bases juiced with one out and the top of the batting order coming up. It was all set up for blowing the game wide open. Kurland then grounding into a double play hurt badly. I sit just a few rows behind home plate and have a pretty good view of the pitches. Home plate blue at times had a rather large strike zone. At least it seemed that way after looking at a season of SEC umps that have embraced a smaller strike zone. I guess the TT first base coach expressed his view on the subject too strongly late in the game, LOL.
Weather permitting. There is a chance that tomorrow afternoon will be a wash out and the UF/UConn game would be in the evening. That would set up a potential double header on Monday.
Man, as a long time Brewers fan, I love this team. To me, in my mind, we can "club" a lot of teams with this lineup. Reminds me of Bambi's Bombers back in '82. I know they did not win a championship but I am hoping this Gator team can catch fire and hammer some teams. Here's to hoping the boys get it done. UF has had some very good hitting teams make the CWS before, when we won it, it was with a starting rotation of great pitchers. GO GATORS!!!!
I've gone back to 2000 and haven't seen it once and we have never done it under Sully. Does anyone know?
