2022 Volleyball Cumulative Statistics - Florida Gators

 

Not a good thing when you best hitter was a one year transfer, your second best hitter (Beason) transfers out, and your 3rd best hitter and best MB says goodbye. It seems like Mary has kind of lost her ability to recruit and keep good players for what ever the reason. We have slipped badly the last 4 years from a top 4/5 program to a 12 to 16 program. I am still of the opinion, the game has passed Mary by much as it did Becky B. I hope I am wrong but as we only picked up a decent O/S hitter from the dredges of a team (MO.) it does make me go hmmm.

 

I am not a big volleyball person, go to some matches here and there. But I heard we got a hell of a class coming in this year and Beason was pretty much a pain in the rear end. But the Bre thing caught almost everyone I know by surprise. I honestly have no clue who you are talking about as the best hitter we had. I was hoping Mary could win one before she leaves but it is looking more and more like that is not going to happen. Little nuggets like she needed to get an asst coach in who is going to challenge her instead of being a yes person is one of the main issues I was told. Hopefully there is someone in the portal or something that can help.

 

Anyone found out where Bre is going?

 

She has made a big splash about leaving on IG. She is no longer on the VB roster.

 

There were no pics of her with Alexis or Gabbi except whole team pictures. This is really puzzling to me. I have seen nothing that would indicate why.

My daughter is 13. She started playing volleyball a couple years ago and LOVES the Gator VB team. It sucks to see players (Beason/Kelley) she admires and has met leave the program. If Stucky leaves, she will have an absolute meltdown. The current Portal/NIL situation has really made college sports harder to love.

Just want to add my two cents on two of our best players transferring out. It hurts, but it's understandable. Mary has let the game pass her by.. she doesn't progress players the way you need to to win championships. A good example is Thayer Hall. She came in the #1 recruit in the nation. Thayer gave her all to the team through injuries and all; but she was the same player as a senior as when she came in. Still a really good player, but she should have been great. Also Mary needs more six rotation players. Too many DS on the court to be effective. I'll leave it there for now; but it's time Mary rides off into the sunset and she can take Boos with her.
