2023 NCAA Baseball Regionals Schedule/Scores/Discussion

FAMU up 1-0. Their number one Viets solid.

 

I’m rooting for FAMU today.

 

I heard it a few times.. heard the same last year. They all like to say stuff that sounds good w/out much to support it.

There were three 4 seeds that were much better than rest.. Wright St, Penn, O Rob. 2 won , & other blew it in 8th.

This Penn pitching held SC to 14 total runs in series back when SC was healthy & red hot. Including a 1-0 loss w/ yesterdays starter. They pitched well and won a tight game,, baseball.

Butch is now 11-3 in regionals. Hopefully he keeps embarassing the sec..

The loss broke a 9 game regional win streak, next longest was 4 I heard. They weernt going to win them all forever lol

 

My Camels to CWS is not looking good.. down 3-0 in 4th to one of the worst 4 seeds.

now 5-0 in 6th..eek

 

Your forgetting when people were saying they were no good I was saying they are a very solid team that will do well

 

at 5-10 in SEC they were no good..lol

Probably Butchs best job honestly, considering he got 5 innings out of the pre season projected 3 in rotation.

Offense has been the consistent all year, held to 4 hits by good pitching.. happens

 

Good catch but IMO the diving catches over your head or straight on are much more difficult.

 

FAMU ties it up in the 6th. They are a scrappy bunch.

But, I saw something. I disagree as they just needed more time. Pretty impressive they ended up hosting. I know this, they are pesky and don’t quit.

 

They figured out the pitching.. Vail led SEC in ERA second half of season,,including Skenes.

When SEC ERA was 9 during first half they werent very good.

 

Barners look like they are ready for summer vacation.

 

Auburn and Okie State seem to be racing each other to the finish to be the first host teams to be eliminated

 

Watching a little bit of the coverage---why are other teams allowed to celebrate and the Gators aren't?

 

Down go the barners and 75% of the crowd.

 

Winner!!.. but at least not highest seed 2 & Q.

Another good year after being picked to be in cellar.

 

Only in the 5th, but incredible comeback by ORU after trailing 7-0 after one inning. Now ORU up 9-8.

 

11 PM Saturday
So far only 3 host teams have won their first 2 games, Ind State, South Carolina, and Virginia. Auburn and Ok State have been eliminated. Host teams with 1 loss already are Florida, Miami, Clemson, Kentucky, and Coastal Carolina. Vanderbilt and Alabama are trailing with 3 or 4 innings left. LSU and Arkansas are dealing with postponements. Point is close to half or more host teams are now trying to get thru the losers bracket. Tough year as a host in the NCAA. Going to be lots of action on Monday with teams fighting for that region win.
Edit: Down goes Vandy - that's 8 host teams that's lost at least one game.
Note: Stanford now losing to TA&M 7-4 going to the 9th. Troy up 1 over Alabama heading to the 9th.
Edit2: Down goes Stanford - now 9 host teams with at least 1 loss
Note: Bama was down to their last out with 2 on but Troy SS has an error on last throw. Bama storms back and scores 4 in the 9th to win.

 

Joe Garagiola wrote a book titled "Baseball is a Funny Game".

It sure as hell is.

 

ORU finished the comeback vs Washington (actually were down by 8-0 before ORU got the momentum). ORU won 15-12. Wow.
