STOP SINGING! National anthem rendition by children deemed 'protest' (wnd.com)

"An unbelievable case of censorship took place when the esteemed Rushingbrook Children’s Choir was silenced by Capitol Police in the middle of singing the National Anthem at the United States Capitol," the report said. "Despite having prior approval from Congress members, the police deemed their performance as a form of protest, sparking outrage and concern among citizens and lawmakers."

The report explained the noted group had been given permission to sing in Statuary Hall by members of Congress, including Russell Fry, Joe Wilson, and William Timmons.

Matthew Leys, a choir supporter, warned in the report, "When you need a permit to sing your National Anthem in your nation’s Capitol, something’s gone wrong."

This is just plain sad; You have to love the leftist policies

Why is this a leftist policy? You would need a permit in Tallahassee as well

So they need a permit because it (the national anthem) was deemed a form of “protest”? If so that’s what is sad.

Maybe just putting on an impromptu music show in general is considered disruptive in the halls of congress, regardless of what you are signing? I don't know, and don't really care. I'm pretty sure 3 congress people can't "give permission" to override capitol rules and permit requirements.

I think under some new Florida laws, any bystander would have been allowed to shoot all the protestors dead ... good thing this happened in DC.

And of course Ted Cruz, MTG, and George Santo we’re outraged, but there’s more to the story.

It is prohibited to have pop up protests or musical performances in the capital building without prior approval, but the Speakers office failed to inform the capital police that it had been approved.

    Capital police statement:
"Although popup demonstrations and musical performances are not allowed in the U.S. Capitol without the proper approval, due to a miscommunication, the U.S Capitol Police were not aware that the Speaker's Office had approved this performance. We apologize to the choir for this miscommunication that impacted their beautiful rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner and their visit to Capitol Hill,"

Capitol Police blame "miscommunication" for 'Star-Spangled Banner' strife

Damn that leftist Kevin McCarthy for not informing the Capital Police this had been approved. This is all on him.

BTW, do you ever research ANYTHING before you post it? It would save you a LOT of embarrassment if you started.

Kevin McCarthy should be apologizing, not the Capital Police. If anyone should know the rules it should be the Speaker of the House.

In fairness to McCarthy he probably didn’t know unless it was his plan to put the Capital Police in an embarrassing position. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t a planned event to spark outrage, and it sickens me that grown-ass adults would use children to do this. Talk about grooming.

Already more right wing outrage on this thread than occurred on January 6.

Popup singing or demonstrations aren't allowed in the US Capitol without pre-approval. The US Capital Police were unaware the Speaker's office gave permission. The USCP gave a genuine apology for their mistake and even complemented the group's performance.

"Although popup demonstrations and musical performances are not allowed in the U.S. Capitol without the proper approval, due to a miscommunication, the U.S Capitol Police were not aware that the Speaker's Office had approved this performance. "We apologize to the choir for this miscommunication that impacted their beautiful rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner and their visit to Capitol Hill," the statement continued.

why is maga making big thing out of this?

Sidenote- this is a good example why WND is considered a less reliable news source.

It’s just too easy to disprove anything the MAGA’s in this forum presents. Too lazy to go beyond WND or anything they see on Fox and Friends I guess.

It is mind boggling they keep posting this crap. These posters have to realize some very educated and very bright posters are immediately going to investigate these threads to expose them for the nonsense they are, but the same posters persist. As some point one would hope they realize that if they keep slamming their head against a wall it hurts, but apparently not.

I disagree completely. From your article above, "...the U.S Capitol Police were not aware that the Speaker's Office had approved this performance." That's on him.

I did eight witnesses' depositions yesterday via Zoom. My secretary omitted the last digit of the passcode on every subpoena. Even though I didn't type them, they came out of MY office and it is MY responsibility to ensure they were prepared properly. While she and I had a little chat about them, to each affected witness I apologized for MY error.

Of course you're not and of course you do, bless your heart. That's the problem..you should be embarrassed and you shouldn't stand behind it, but you lack awareness.
