Trump probably had those classified documents planted in Pence's places, as retribution for Pence not helping him overthrow the government and for Pence then escaping the gallows and taking his family to safety from all those tourists on January 6. With this news that Pence won't be charged, I imagine there's ketchup hitting the walls at Mar-a-Lago.

Could this be the difference between the guy sentenced in the linked article and Pence (and probably Biden).
In 2017, investigators found that Birchum knowingly removed more than 300 classified files or documents” and kept them in “his home, his overseas officer’s headquarters, and a storage pod in his driveway,” according to the release. More than 30 of those files and documents were marked “Top Secret” – the highest level of classification.
Unless I missed it neither Pence nor Biden knowingly removed classified documents. In the case of the former president what is becoming apparent is that when specifically asked to return documents he refused to do so and lied about documents that he continued to possess.

    lolwut?
I like people to obey the law, and cooperate when there are issues. Which is basically what every Republican used to stand for before Trump.
Biden and Pence cooperated even though both were probably outside of the law, Trump decided to be Trump and put himself above everyone and everything else, and he will get indicted for it likely.

Don't quote you version of "the law" when you know only the Dems and their crony's get way with declassified documents without the Stasi... err.. FBI launching into action.

Every freaking POTUS did what Trump did , but somehow you agree with UNEQUAL justice as the law? But even that is NOT the point.

The FBI knows Biden took classifies documents from the WH while he was vice president so the FBI is just following suit so they don't look like they are playing favorites to Biden... they don't want to deal with the optics and possible/probable repercussions... So they let Pence get ways with it too.

When the fbi reached out to Pence and Biden they cooperated fully.
Trump lied, obfuscated for over a year, made crap up about how he could declassify stuff, allegedly had files moved so the FBI couldn’t find it, and now is reportedly on tape admitting what he was doing and it’s legality, and for good measure potentially sharing it with people who didn’t have clearance.

If you honestly can’t see the difference between the two scenarios I dont know what else to say.

Yeah, I mean a guy purposely hiding classified docs from the fbi, and potentially sharing them, no biggie. An average person would be spending life in prison. And they have in the past.
    But Trump, sooo…

Yeah and level of "cooperation" asserted by Biden fanboys after the fact doesn't make it any less of a crime, if there was a crime at all, which seems not to be the case. Nothing will happen to Biden, Trump or Pence. These men had the highest security clearance in the world. But they'll have fun whipping you into a frenzy about it to make you think it's something.

I think ‘knowingly’ is applied differently to different people. There is no such thing as equal justice in this country.

I am only pointing out why Trump’s case is different, I think he will be indicted, whether he’s convicted is another matter. It isn’t some massive conspiracy against him, which was what Rick was implying. Trump made it worse for himself, like he always does, and then cried victim, and people here race to his defense.

If the DOJ indicts Trump over that, it will ensure his re-election. His numbers go up every time there's a new episode of the witch hunt. But this would take it to another level, as you have the presidential election coming up and he's your opponent....and Biden is just as guilty of having classified material in his possession, at the same time. The American people would rightly see that for what it is and vote accordingly. Go ahead and indict. It would be a boon to Trump's re-election prospects. But even I don't think Biden/Garland are that dumb.

    I disagree.
Most Indy’s seem done with Trump.
    Many Pubs as well.
You aren’t winning the WH without the indy’s and much of your base. Just ask Hillary.

I pray Trump can’t /doesn’t run so that there is a shot to get Biden out. He won’t last cognitively 5 more years and Harris is a complete novice and a disaster.

Ehh…I could live with DeSantis, but we don’t want an administration that is going to indict and convict an ex-president when said administration is guilty of the same thing. That’s something they would do in Zimbabwe. If that were to happen here, I only see that helping Trump and not moving the needle much for DeSantis. Also, I think indies are going to be turned off by DeSantis’ culture wars.

For the ignorant on this board:

Top Secret refers to national security information or material which requires the highest degree of protection. The test for assigning Top Secret classification is whether its unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security

I can see you point, however there are many on the left who have been creaming their shorts for 4 years hoping Trump would get convicted.
Funny that many loved him when he had a D after his name.
I also agree about Indy’s getting turned off by DeSantis wanting into BS.
Don’t think he needed to get so “anti-woke” for lack of a better term.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, will be bring back those who don’t like Trump. He has a great core of about 30 percent and a soft core of another 15 or so. The rest of the country despises him in a way Trump supporters still can’t really grasp. He doesn’t have a big enough base to win, which some republicans have finally realized. Indictments or not, the only way he can win is if Biden voters stay home. If they show up he will lose again, and whine about fraud to cover his bruised ego again.

    Corrected it for you:
If the DOJ indicts Trump over that, it will ensure his re-election nomination.

He's the favorite now and an indictment would ensure that he's the Republican nominee in 2024. With winner-take-all Republican primaries 35% to 40% of the vote should enough to most of the primaries given that his followers worship him like the leader of the cult that he is and actually fall for his witch hunt line. As far as the general election is concerned it will be 2020 all over again.
