I’m not watching but trying to figure out the last play. Did Josh not have a play at first? Surely he was playing back so how in the world would you get thrown out at the plate unless you broke late or you were dragging an anchor.
He fielded the ground ball on the second base side of the infield and then threw home. It was a bad late read by their base runner to boot.
Bill I fell asleep .. I really did ! Golf and cold beer . I made it through 7 innings. What. Is up with all the BASERUNNING stuff?
I was just wondering why not throw to first unless he bobbled the ball and the runner broke late or what.
Dramatic effect. BT was standing there with the ball waiting for the baserunner 6 feet from the plate. Crowd appreciated the drama!
Maybe we should create/build higher berms to make more room for the people that like to just sit on the ground and watch Gator baseball.
He didn’t get to the ball until it was pretty deep into center. Probably no play at first, and easiest play in the world at the plate. *just saw Ricks video above. I was going off memory, but you can see the batter is already at first by the time Josh gets to the ball. Third base coach must have thought Josh wouldn’t get to it, or runner blew a stop sign, not sure.
I thought the runner was on third, not second, so that was more of where the confusion was coming from.
I'm not sure but I think after the game Sully walked over to the 3rd base coach to shake hands and said "Lars is that you?"
