Here's the link to Collegiate Baseball's 2023 All America Teams. There will be 3 or 4 other AA teams and I would bet Langford, for sure, is 1st team on a couple of them. It looks like they just took a list on conference players and pitchers of the year and threw them together to make a team. I can't remember which Gator golfer it was but he was up a few holes on Tiger Woods at the US Amateur and eventually lost it. It was very exciting.
No offense to Tebow, but that was the day that that the Heisman trophy officially became meaningless in my mind.
I believe during the match, Tiger marked his ball over a club length on one hole on the green and when he went back to replace the ball, Tiger put it in the wrong place. The Gator told him before he hit and he corrected it. If he had not done that, he would have won the hole and possibly the match. I think it was Steve Scott.
With the game notes listing Cags as the probable starter will this affect Sully's decision next Friday if we make it thru the Regional? Sully really likes keeping his starters on schedule so could he start Jac next Friday? I mean everyone would second guess him if we lost next Friday (Cags) and Saturday (Sproat) and Waldrep never gets a chance. Most here will say no way since they would still get a 6 day rest but Sully holds the rotation fairly strict most of the time. Plus the CWS starts on Friday the next week as well.
Thinking ahead to the Super Regional SPs rotation is why I would stay on schedule and start Waldrep tomorrow. I understand we have to win the Regional to play the Super but Cags pitching at home is very good- I see no need to alter the rotation but there it is.
Hey 1977, any idea if they will recognize the golf team this weekend at the ballpark? It would be fantastic but I fear the NCAA does not allow any home team announcements that could be a positive to the hosting team. I know they limit other things for the home team but not sure if there's a way to get around the rules possibly before the umps get there.
The NCAA abhors home field advantage. Zero chance they would allow the home team to do home team things. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
What we will see is the NCAA rep, I assume same guy we've had in past years, strolling around on the field acting important, being as annoying as the entity he represents. I almost referred to him as an old guy, but he's yearsyouget than I. I can be annoying, but it's not what I do for a living.
