All people must conform to your sense of "normal." No individuality or individual expression allowed. Sex and sexuality doesn't exist, and schools must only teach the approved curriculum of math, language, and science...and nothing else. Welcome to 2023....er I mean 1984!

If there was no indoctrination into this abnormal lifestyle, how has this lifestyle persisted throughout the generations? And really think that just being around a man in a dress is going to turn someone into a cross dresser? Or will a kid catch, "the gay" just being around them?

I ask again, what damage is truly being done by seeing man wearing a dress? Is it the same damage I had watching Bosom Buddies growing up, or seeing Star Fleet dress uniforms? How the heck did I turn out "normal?"

Just so you know, nearly every person who has been identified as a “groomer” after conservatives’ war on drag shows and trans individuals have almost exclusively been middle aged, white Christian men. There is also a well known history of grooming that is associated with the Catholic Church, so why aren’t you up in arms about things that actually exist and have been proven? Are you secretly projecting like the rest of your weirdo political party?

They think they’re protecting their kids, when in reality all they are doing is irreparable damage by trying to make it seem like LGBTQ+ individuals don’t exist in the world. It’s a proven fact that a good majority children who are sheltered from things end up being badly screwed up later in life.

You mean you have beliefs that the majority of people don't hold? That's ABNORMAL!

Fun note on this: whenever I want to freak out an out-of-towner, I tell them about how much my 2 year old son loves Mardi Gras. They all start picturing me taking them to Bourbon, where the parades don't even run, and not the parades in which fully clothed people hand out beads and stuffed animals and other toys to other fully clothed people mixed in with spectacular marching bands.

That's actually an interesting juxtaposition in terms of what most angers society: a sex-crazed cartoon exhibiting her massive boobs; a prostitute cute enough for everybody to love; and a transgender woman exposing her arms.

Spent my freshman year at Tulane. Way back in the day there were plenty of boobies around that part of town. Same used to be said for Gasparilla.
Alas GOP’rs and the decency brigade ruin all the fun….

I have no problem with drags shows, unless they are targeting children.

Yep, not sure if a “faithful” adaptation of Jessica Rabbit in live action would be child-friendly. Haha

Mostly just a funny graphic, but there is a lesson somewhere in there.

Yeah, not uptown these days. You would get some pretty heavy glares for that sort of thing. You can still get that in the quarter, but not uptown. I actually like the split. If I want to take the kid to a parade, I can and if I want to see a bunch of topless people in mermaid costumes in a jacuzzi somebody dragged out onto the street (a thing I have actually seen), I can do that too.

Not sure whether you're serious or not. It's very unlikely that the guy is actually trans. He's most likely an effeminate gay guy and may even be an admittedly weird straight guy. Although they fail as often they succeed, male to female transgender persons try to blend in as women. If one looks at him it's rather obvious that the guy wasn't making even a feeble attempt to do so.

Because this is a discussion forum about the specific topic and I'm not treating them in any particular way on an anonymous forum.

Again that just sounds like the same "everyone has to AGREE" or you are this or that.

Do you actively avoid church? Does that mean you hate Christians?

Do you actively avoid gay bars? Does that mean you hate gays?

Do you actively avoid certain neighborhoods or streets after dark? Does that make you a racist?

Do you avoid Fox News? Does that mean you hate everyone who watches? We have to do better at this whole free thought thing and stop bullying thought.

Treatment is different. We treat everyone fairly and with decency and dignity.

But avoiding certain situations is completely different. If I "avoid" this guy, no harm is done. He never even knows.

Embarrassing to who? The guy obviously is comfortable on his own skin. It seems to me that you are the one embarrassed and perhaps uncomfortable, which is OK. People are different. But isn’t that a you problem, not a him problem?

Another thing we've lost. Cartoons used to be made by demented perverts who's only other alternative was circus geek, now its just Ivy league grads who spent 4 years studying the dramatic triad.
