No he's actually not. It's ok to draw a difference between the two. It is extremely lazy to try to say the two are the same. Not surprised with this crowd though...

So once again we will have some more reasonable Repubs like Christie or Haley to choose from and only a small fraction of Repub primary voters will vote for them. Then when Trump wins the nomination our team Repub posters will blame Dems for forcing them to vote for Trump in the general election because the only options are Trump and Biden.

I don't agree with a lot of what DeSantis has done lately but this is utter garbage what you just said. Turn off MSNBC. Lying isn't a good look. Take a lap.

I think he prefers to let Jack Smith, Fani Willis et al take care of his trump problem from the outside while Christie, Asa Hutchinson and others shoot at him from close range.

    Really?
The first is another example of DeSantis trying to appeal to Evangelicals who were attracted to Trump based on the abortion issue by taking an apparently more extreme position than Trump. The second rather than criticizing Trump is actually an example of Meatball Ron's support of the Donald. In other words trying to appeal to Trump supporters by agreeing that Trump is being unfairly victimized by Alvin Bragg. I cannot comment on the third linked articles since it is behind a complete paywall. I would also add that other than Trump himself, DeSantis is the only Republican candidate who indicated that he would pardon the January 6th insurgents. Although DeSantis hasn't been an election denier himself his position regarding the insurgents. seems to be a normalization of election denial, a position supported by a majority of self-identified Republicans.

Probably the only issue in which they disagreed and DeSantis didn't come out against the lockdowns until they really started to damage Florida's economy. In fact, DeSantis supported lockdowns before he was against them. From April 2020.

Also let's not forget that after DeSantis lifted the lockdown in mid-May, the incidence of Covid increased in Florida.

LOL. That's a lot of spin...

Seriously, you can admit DeSantis and trump aren't alike much at all. They won't pull your lib card. Trump wanted FL locked down. DeSantis told him to pound sand. Simple as that. DeSantis and trump disagree strongly on abortion(I'm against touching the issue at all). They don't align with the fiscal spending issues of the govt, differ on immigration also. It's almost like they are totally different, which they are...

Seriously? This is your take? Everyone locked down for a month or so. Once the data showed who covid affected and that being outside wasn't the end of the world(unlike pretty much every dem state) FL opened back up once there was data from Europe. But that doesn't fit your little narrative.

My point was actually that the Covid lockdowns are the only issue on which there was any real disagreement between DeSantis and Trump and that the DeSantis lockdown coincided with the Trump/CDC position. Restating what I had previously stated, DeSantis's attacks are Trump aren't based on real differences in policy but rather the degree to which the policies will be implemented with Meatball's position being even more extreme than Trump's, abortion, immigration and the culture wars being examples.

So this is your way of telling me you don't want to have a rational conversation. Got it. They are totally different. Just like Biden and whoever the hell the dems won't let him debate that is also on the ballot...

I’ve actually been somewhat surprised how forcefully the DeSantis camp is already going after Trump.

Part of that is in response to the nonsense Trumpworld is spewing, but they’ve been beating the “Trump wasn’t a terrible president for the first three years but then he turned his presidency over to Fauci” and “Trump only cares about soundbites, that’s why he pushed the omnibus spending bill with broad amnesty and only a pittance for the wall” drum pretty hard in the past week.

Actually it's you telling me that you do not want to have a rational conversation. The primary subject was whether Ron DeSantis is willing to attack Trump and with the exception of their Covid policies which I would concede were different and that DeSantis lifted the lockdowns before the CDC changed its position, Ron DeSantis's attacks on Trump have not been based on real differences in substantive policies but only the degree of those policies with DeSantis taking more extreme positions in the hope of clawing away some of Trump's supporters and he most likely will not be successful.

Trump was for 2 weeks of lock-downs because he didn't know the reality of this plandemic that I think Pence was in on.

But Trump was NEVER for mandatory vaccine shots.

I showed multiple examples of DeSantis criticizing Trump. Just because you don't like those examples doesn't make them untrue. You can have an uninformed opinion, but I produced facts and you now look foolish. Oh well.
