    Is the person gay?

    Is the person trans?

    I don't have a clue.

The point is he's dressing as a woman and presenting it as normal to children. THAT is a problem.

Exactly what I said earlier in this thread. Desantis says they should be outraged by it so they all a sudden are angry about it, lol. No ability to critically think for themselves.

By that logic there are a lot of things we should do differently in this country, and banning trans people from being around children is way down the list in so far as reducing huge waves of mental illness.

Republicans are literally trying to make SNAP benefits more difficult to receive - 71% of participants in SNAP are families with children. Maybe we should focus on making sure children are fed? Maybe that should be a priority? Hey - firearms are now the leading cause of death for children - maybe we should do something about that? Nah. Let's protect them from the Trans boogeyman....Let's just ignore the fact that you are far far far more likely to be sexually abused by one of your own parents than a trans person.

The selective outrage is... well... outrageous.

And i'm so tired of this excuse -
Trans people didn't do anything to anyone as a group. But all of a sudden they're being literally legislated against. It's horse crap - and making up some justification in your head that somehow they DESERVE this because of something that was supposedly "done" to you, is just the highest order of horse crap.

Don't get me wrong, I like Bluke. I just think he's off the rails on some topics, esp. the trans issue.

Even putting aside whether it's fair to stereotype LGBT people, I see a practical issue here in terms of child safety. If parents (or kids for that matter) see red flags and hear alarms going off only when there's a gay or trans person or someone with tattoos around, it's fair to infer that their guard is relatively lowered with adults who express and present themselves traditionally. I'm sure that isn't lost on sexual predators and that most would seek to avoid creating any additional suspicion.

This reminds me of how people were shocked because Ted Bundy was just too clean cut to be a murderer and rapist. His youngest victim was 12 by the way.

Ya'll are crushing these strawman lately.

What if I told you my parenting style is for my kids to safely experience the world so they can ask me questions and learn and understand how the world works.

Spoiler alert, your kids are gonna come across crossdressers and trannys out in the world. I'd say bad parenting is trying to shelter them from exposure to the weird and hope for the best. We all saw the "sheltered" kids go off to college and lose their shit

Does it bother you if a woman wears pants in front of children? What about a soccer/football jersey? What about kilts? I need to understand where you draw the line on what people are allowed to wear that is gender appropriate that might unsettle children deeply and scar them emotionally for all time if they see it.

Do you think guns hurt people online? Because that is not how they work. Are you seriously trying to argue that there is a zero percent chance that any of your guns will be used to hurt a person, because that is factually untrue.

So I guess we're not allowed to talk about it then. It's not the #1 issue so shut up already.

Childhood obesity is probably a more prevalent issue in America today than children starving.

This is a conversation about the trans issue. Gun control's important too, but that has nothing to do with this issue and we've discussed it ad nauseam. And last I checked, conservatives aren't celebrating kids getting shot, yet here you are celebrating normalizing cross-dressing and gender confusion to children.

All we want is to not normalize being trans to children, and for trans people to be properly categorized for things like sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms.

If you call that "being legislated against," well tough shit.

    Why?
What about people with confederate flags? That's not normal - That sounds like a problem. Should we take all the kids away from parents that have confederate flags?
What about parents that are neo-Nazis or white supremacist's? Should we take their kids too? For presenting these things as normal?
Come to think of it - how does one present something as normal at Disney world - a place of COSTUMES!?
There are literally people walking around in Mouse, duck and dog costumes - is that something we should normalize or no?

Who gets to be the arbiter of what is normal? And if something is NOT normal, why is that a problem?

Nah, that’s just what you tell yourself to feel better about your own choices.

What happens when your kids friends have liberal parents. Gotta protect them from those freaks so “no birthday party for you, son, I don’t care if the entire rest of the class is going. Those people are liberal”

And it certainly doesn’t explain why you need to continually call anyone who thinks differently than you a shitty parent.

And you wonder why all those kids need litterboxes at school now, decades of seeing people in cat costumes at theme parks, movies and halloween! Why the musical Cats destroyed an entire generation!

Said it before although I'm sure it won't sink in. The guy is a character in a costume. He is obviously not trying to present as a real woman or promote a transgender agenda (whatever that is).

    No you don't.

A grown man in makeup dressing as a fairy and acting effeminate and presenting it as normal is clearly over the line.

You've clearly never been to New Orleans ;)

Seriously, my second week here, I went to the grocery store and watched a guy in a minion costume walk around pushing a cart doing normal grocery shopping. It was neither October nor Mardi Gras.

Can you stay on topic, please?

I don't think Disney should have employees glamorizing the confederate flag either.

That's genuinely a good question. But I guess according to you, the answer is nobody. We should live in this vacuum of no cultural standards whatsoever.

I think the most conservative politically of my friends in HS parents was extremely permissive and ended up killing someone in a dispute over drugs 15 years later, so I'm not sure what someone's views on politics have to do with parenting or character TBH.

Not to mention the blatant celebration and indoctrination of kids into bestiality through stories like Beauty And The Beast. There's probably an open lane available if anyone wants to take up that sub-issue.
