I'm very happy if the President of the United States isn't spending his time tweeting.

I thought it is weird for a company that doesn’t work 7 days a week to be in a 7 day a week public building. Airports and toll plazas for example and chick fila is closed 14 percent of the time they are open.

I’m struggling to understand the difference between “compelled silence” and censorship. If the government compels you to not speak in opposition, for example, isn’t that censorship? And wouldn’t that be the epitome of a violation of the First Amendment?

While that’s true that’s not why they did it.

I didn’t give you a dislike it was a come on man.
Perhaps no other “billionaires” have asked for money, but nobody who runs for President is poor by any means, they all ask for cash from everyone.
You mentioned Bloomberg, there’s one right there.

For the record i don’t think DeSantis should have gotten into a pissing match with Disney. It was a lose lose situation for him. You’re going to get way more bad press getting into a battle than good and not really pick up any voters.

Since I don’t know all the details of the reddy creek situation I can’t fully comment on the plus or minus of them losing that. Certainly it was a big benefit for them to have that designation. But in this case it was the corporation speaking out against a law that didn’t even say what they alleged. The chick-fil-a deal was very different IMHO as it was not the corporation, but the owner specifically who expressed his views.

Trying to relate the Fila situation with the midget vs. Disney is just example #5642144114 on this board of right wingers trying to compare situation A and B which are in no way analogous.

If you have limited concession space to serve the traveling public do you provide concession space to company that isn't open 15% of the time? The big issue is being closed on Sundays yet those that continue to throw the CFA issue into the discussion refuse to recognize that reality. To the best of my knowledge, no CFA has been denied the opportunity to build and operate a restaurant on their own property, assuming the property is zoned for the proposed use. CFA has been denied only in areas where publicly owned concession space was limited.

Yes, some politicians have used the opportunity to rail against CFA stance on LGBT issues but that is not why they were denied the space.

Open 7 days a week like EVERY other concession and they would have been approved. Is that so hard to understand?

Trouble is they were going to get the space (the one day closed wasn’t an issue). That’s was until some on the left tried to cancel them. The article make it clear why the PTB didn’t want them in the airports for one.
You’re just trying to rewrite the story now to minimize they why.

And it wasn’t the corporations stance it was the owners opinion.

I'm saying censorship IS "compelled silence."

Government compelling silence generally is a violation of the First Amendment, but not always. But that is the general rule.

If DeSantis said that the special district thing is retaliatory (which he basically did), you would be calling it retaliatory and you are calling it retaliatory because that is what he said.

Yet when Democrats say they want to keep Chick-Fil-A out of their city because of their stances on LGBTQ issues, you're acting as though it's just because they're closed on Sundays.

You're giving your team the benefit of the doubt because that would serve a politically convenient purpose, but not the other team because you just don't like it when the other team does it.

Are there any posts where you criticize DeSantis for his punishment of Disney for exercising its freedom of speech? If there are, then you have a leg to stand on here. If not, you're just as much of a hypocrite as anyone else. Feel free to present them if you have them.

And, as pointed out, the CFA situation was a bit different than the Disney situation.

It is a privately held company. The owner is very anti-gay...very anti-LGTBQ. They have some protections but are not yet a protected class. When they do finally get protected status, the right is going to melt down. Maybe the right should start embracing the LGTBQ community instead of the opposite. You know, reach across that aisle. No? Then live with the consequences. Wait till they overturn Obergefell. Stop trying to marginalize them for once. Let them be. But you can't. Can you?

Personally I could give a crap one way about any particular group. I don’t think any one group should be favored over another.
But none of that is the point.

I was making the point that the left didn’t care when a corporation was negatively affected but Governmental decisions because they didn’t like the opinion of the owner of the company but when it has come to Disney where the corporation actually put out an opinion, it’s the end of free speech.

Keep twisting to justify being enraged now, and cheering before. Just try to be honest you don’t like DeSantis because he has a R after his name and that’s 90% of the issue.

It's not the same thing. Everyone knows it. Favored? That one word speaks volumes. The LGTBQ community wants the same rights as anyone else. They don't want to be "favored". When are you going to learn? The more you fight it, the more you lose. Why? The CEO was openly anti-gay. He was donating to anti-gay groups. There are a lot more people that accept gays than not.

    I’m not fighting anything.
As I said I could care less what people do in their homes(mostly).
Funny though Chic-fil-a sales went nuts after they started taking heat, I guess plenty of people thought they got a raw deal.

Disqualification reason #7565675778 for the presidency for Florida's Billy Barty:

In an interview this week, he said he would eliminate leftism in this country if he got 2 terms in the Oval.

Just imagine if Obama or Biden said they'd use the presidency to end conservatism.
