Does Sully take the early or late game? I know he's taken the early game if there is a greater than normal chance of rain.
So who do you throw in game 1? I would throw Jac.....if you can't beat FAMU with him and your midweek guys then you aren't going anyhere regardless. Save Sproat and Waldrep and you should be golden
No. I think he changed the rotation so Sproat can go round 2. If we make it to Omaha, he may change back to give Sproat a better chance of pitching two.
Stay on schedule with Waldrep and take the late game so you will have a better turnout. Taking the early game means 3-3.5k in stands vs 6k+. If our bats come alive this could be a blowout so might be able to save the Pen.
Cags sure didn't get overextended Saturday. But that would be a good strategy, IMO. The scary thing about a team like FAMU is that pitchers throw a ton of junk that can get our hitters' timing off. We did run-rule them 17-7 a couple of months ago and Tejada pitched pretty well. Jameson & Purnell not so much. FAMU does have a pretty good hitting team - .296 BA , 69 HR and 3 guys with 10+. Still, it's a game we SHOULD easily win.
Kowar was pretty inconsistent at that juncture as well...in fact IMO him and Jac are an interesting comparison I wouldn't be surprised if he goes with Waldrep, but I would save Sproat at a minimum
You typically would throw the number 3 pitcher in a game like this so I don’t disagree you should throw jac out there on Friday. The question becomes who do throw game 2 in winner’s bracket game. I would do Sproat.
You mean throwing breaking balls and change ups would give our line up fits ??? Naw …. We just need to swing harder , upward , and pull it . “ Coach if I can get hold of it look out “
Cags will be on 6 days rest- Sproat will be on 7 days rest- Waldrep will be on 8 days rest- They all will be good to go, it just depends on who got put on what throwing schedule this week gearing for each start. Sully I’m sure has his plan.
