Just an FYI - The same person who posted the transfer portal names above also posted that Mike Bosch was no longer listed on UF Softball as one of the coaches, only to have someone else post the link that proved them wrong.
Hard to believe on Wilke - she just into the game at catcher and 1st base. Liv, I could see. A friend of mine spoke to Goddard at length a week ago and she was so happy being a Gator and excited to get back to playing.
This really is a good message board. Most here are good thinkers, level headed, don't panic and offer good information. Kudos.
I totally agree. Baylee loves being a Gator. Besides, she’s been injured two seasons in a row. She’s a great player, but I can’t imagine another team picking her up due to the injuries. Also, her arm was in a sling in the late part of the year.
Baylee would be a head scratcher if she decided to leave. You can understand when a California girl is not playing as much as she wants and a little homesickness sets in and boom she’s gone. Baylee is from Jacksonville and as you mentioned has had back to back season ending injuries. At the season opening tournament at USF Baylee was batting second and was just crushing the ball in that tournament. Not just on balls put in play but she was hitting multiple foul balls that were homerun length that she absolutely destroyed. I remember thinking that she was going to lengthen the lineup adding another potent bat to the top of the order. If she leaves, who knows what the reason, but I would really be disappointed to lose her, as I was again this season.
Yep - I think that's what I had posted. Maybe the person on the other board is just trying to stir things up and get certain fans riled.
Agree with Wilkie, she really came on at the end of this season. Is it a trend, enough to assure her more playing time next season? Hard to say. What does she really gain by transferring? Maybe a little more playing time at a school at a lower level of competition? And then what? I think I’d stick around and earn my UF degree. The grass is very rarely greener at the next stop as they say.
There are a couple of posters like that on Robo Coach. The biggest jerk goes by “Anonymous”. How clever!
Always hoped lexie would turn the corner but she's been a head case in the circle from game 1. Has talent but needs to work on her mental game I think. Hope she rises somewhere.
Lexie or sure would have been a scholarship player I would think so that that makes me think walton will get in at least one big transfer. I would think an upperclass pitcher or catcher. Would think Sam is 3b next year?
Mia Williams plays 3rd for a year, then shifts to SS when Wallace leaves. Roe probably is a utility player and will shift where needed. For whatever reason, Walton and staff just don't trust her behind the plate.
I love Sam, but she is the odd player out. She is a decent hitter, but in the field, not so much. I wish her well, but I think she will bail. Emily is the best catcher on the team. She takes charge and communicates well after every pitch. I do wish she could hit better. I would be extremely surprised if she hits the portal.
Actually, no. If my memory is correct, Lexie threw a one hitter against Michigan in her first outing. At the USF tournament. As with all of our pitchers under Bosch, it has been a down hill slide since.
