You did. You called posts “embarrassing.” And then gave an that is expressly contrary to Supreme Court precedent. Next time, before going Justice Story on everyone, try a link. With actual law.

You may not call yourself a fan but I'm sure you voted for him twice. You blame the 2022 losses on him so now you're all in on Desantis

It's clearly a freedom of speech issue. Disney said something the governor disapproved of so the governor used his power to punish Disney. It's as straight forward as it gets and you really have to twist yourself into a pretzel to try to rationalize it any other way. And for the record, I've never given a crap about Disney.

Just curious where was all the outcry about freedom of speech and defending the owners of chick-fil-a years ago when cities literally said they would not allow them to have restaurants in their cities due to them being homophobic?
That wasn’t even the corporation, it was the owners opinion and the corporation did nothing anti LGBTQ

I blame 2018, 2020 and 2022 on him. I blame everything about J6 on him. I blame the destruction of a potentially great actual conservative administration in 2016 on him. I blame his absolute inability to shut his mouth on social media on him.

I have never voted for Donald Trump.

So take me at my word when I say that I have never been a fan of Donald Trump.

That's okay to most THFSG posters because CFA are the bad people.

I didn't follow the story during that time but that should not be up to government officials. Were they prevented from opening?
Were laws passed to harm them? It sounds like you agree with Disney on this.

So you like to play the semantics game. You marked the bubble next to his name in more than one election. The GOP sold its soul to put Donald in office. He is a cancer to the party, has successfully split the party in two and I have no sympathy. You deserve him and all his baggage and you cant get rid of him until he has sucked every donation dollar from his voters that he can. Look at that...a billionaire milking poor people for donations

I fully supported CFA of course & thought even the public being pissy was BS. I don't know of gov attempts to punish them but it would not surprise me & that would be BS. I do recall the idiot mayor of Seattle trying to keep Whole Foods out cuz their wages weren't high enough - outrageous & idiotic!

“New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan tweeted Thursday that he was disappointed in the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority’s decision to put a Chick-fil-A at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Just a day later, Ryan tweeted that he spoke with the food court’s vendor, who told him that Chick-fil-A would no longer be a part of the project.

    Ryan tweet

“We hope in the future the NFTA will make every effort to contract with businesses that adhere to anti-discriminatory policies, and we’re confident another vendor who better represents the values of the Western New York community will replace Chick-fil-A as part of this project in the very near future,” he said.

In San Antonio a week earlier, the City Council voted 6-4 to remove Chick-fil-A from its seven-year concession plan for one of San Antonio International Airport’s terminals”

    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/02/chick-fil-a-loses-two-airport-deals-in-less-than-two-weeks.html

Mind you they had NO anti LBGTQ corporate policies.

Chick-fil-A is getting skewered by a group of New York lawmakers who are looking to block the company’s bid to open restaurants at state highway rest stops because of its owner’s anti-LGBTQ stance.

The Atlanta-based fast-food chain is among a handful of restaurants that were awarded contracts by the New York State Thruway Authority to be part of a $450 million plan to renovate 27 service areas.

But Chick-fil-A’s chief executive, Dan Cathy — whose father, S. Truett Cathy, founded the $8.4 billion company in 1946 — has publicly disparaged LGBTQ rights, which some legislators say should disqualify the privately owned company from opening eateries at state-run highway rest stops.

New York lawmakers want to ban Chick-fil-A from rest stops

You can see my links above.
You can also go back here and see none of the left were crying about free speech being infringed. Sad thing is that wasn’t even a corporate opinion. It was based on the opinion of the founder of the company.

You did it want to know, or you didn’t care then, or you knew the answer and wanted to avoid it.

While I’m not a fan of what the chick fil a ceo said, he had the right to say it, and he was just speaking about his own personal beliefs when specifically asked by a reporter and not speaking for the company. I thought it was a really shitty deal the way they were treated and said so at the time.

As bad as it was, the Disney seems like a bigger deal to me, in that it was a state government direction intervening against a major corporation for clear retribution for their free speech.

I don’t see the both sides argument making what Desantis did any more excusable. In the chick fil a cases it was politicians pandering and virtue signaling. With Desantis it was direct retribution against Disney for opposing his agenda.

What he did here and what he is doing with Lapado and vaccine investigations to me are both disqualifiers as far as I’m concerned. It’s not likely I’d vote for him anyway, but that put him up there in the MAGA awfulness, then add in the 6 week abortion ban and that sealed his awfulness.

    Desantis is Victor Orban.
