Yep, if there's one thing Democrats care about, it's wasting time and tax dollars. :D

That's not correct. The First Amendment very clearly protects against that, sweetheart deal or not. The government can choose not to confer a benefit. What the government cannot do is choose to confer a benefit and then revoke it on unconstitutional grounds (i.e., because you criticized the governor's policy) or condition receipt of that benefit on unconstitutional grounds (i.e., refraining from criticizing the governor's policy).

You may not value free speech, but I do.

slight correction, private entities can build water/sewer/power with the consent of the PSC or the public entity that holds the utility franchise for that subject area. most use districts to finance that construction with tax free bonds and assess the property being benefitted.

We also don't know the number of those small businesses that would have closed anyway.

The shutdowns began and were maintained largely voluntarily. People didn't really start returning to normal until the vaccines dropped, as much as it might be convenient to forget that these days.

Well their power changed over the course of ten years, yes. Obergefell empowered a lot of the gay and trans stuff. Not directly, but it kind of gave them the green light.

and we know that over 1.1 million people died and the number would have been much higher without the restrictions until the vaccine became available. as others have noted, people were staying home regardless of the rules once the severity of the disease became known.

Which is why giving businesses some freedom might have been ok. People were self governing for the most part

I trust teachers and librarians to determine which books are age appropriate. In a K-6 elementary school what may be inappropriate for a 3rd graders could be perfectly appropriate for a 6th grader and insofar as Florida is concerned it seems that books are being banned not because they are really inappropriate but rather because a single overly sensitive parent may find a book offensive. This meme comes immediately to mind.

So what you're saying is that because society has become more accepting of LGBTQ people, there are more books with LGBTQ themes. And so we need new laws to allow conservatives to have LGBTQ-themed books removed from school, books the liberals in charge won't remove, because the books are introducing inappropriate ideas to children. Yes?

Would you have protected employees that refused to come to work and waived requirements for healthcare to treat everyone once all the beds were full?

It was not founded to deny religious people authority on the basis of being religious.

Having authority and using authority to advance religion are totally different.

Ever hear of that whole separation of church and state thingy?

If Trump reads this board, he is now furious at his staffers for not coming up with the “How could Russians influence the election, they can’t even vote in it?” defense.
