I am sure Gov Huckabee is very, very concerned for the well being of all of those poor people. No worries.

Without crunching the numbers, I wonder what percent is on medicaid, medicare, ACA stipends, VA benefits; and how it wouldn't be cheaper to just offer universal coverage. I feel like this should just be a math equation at this point.

Governor Sanders is a Cino - Christian in name only. Some of the people kicked off Medicare in her state will die due to lack of health care. She knows it and doesn't care. She just signed a law eliminating permits requiring an employer to verify a child's age and parent's consent before hiring the child. So much for family values.

It’s Medicaid not Medicare there is a difference.

Also disturbing is the number of active duty service members who are on public assistance. Disgraceful.

danmanne65 - thank you for the correction - I meant to say Medicaid. I am 67 years old and have Medicare (Part A).

Not trying to be a jerk sierra and I'm not picking on you. (Your awesome).

Whats even worse are the number of former (and active) service members whom splatter their brains all over the living room carpet with those lead firing toys the GOP is so enamoured with.

My point is - Our culture worships the few % of people that make it - You know the wealthy, rock stars, political pundits, anyone on TV.

Not so much the 95% that don't measure up to the B.S. standards of the media or the marketing (commercial) idiots that make us all living zombies.

I think this is about right. Then factor in employee and employer tax breaks for providing employer health care.

I think the day will come when we have something approaching universal health care, but it will likely be fragmented. Eventually all states will adopt the Medicaid expansion and sometime after that perhaps a public option will be added to ACA.

Yep, and I bet the vast majority are in red states.

Why do you think they’re opposed to abortion? They need them as cheap labor to fill jobs that don’t pay a living wage.

Of course we will. It is inevitable. One party has wanted it and the other hasn’t done a damn thing to prevent it for over thirty years now.

The other party has not been able to articulate a workable alternative.

True, and the reason for that is that they didn’t really want to.

That's nothing new. It's been like that since the early 90s. I supervised kids who were on it back than. Was just as disgraceful then as it is today.
