Target is cleaner, better lighted, and less crowded. If I want that Times-Square-on-New-Years-Eve experience, I go to Costco.
Also, Wal Mart sells women's vibrators that are visible to any child that happens to walk by them. Boycott
So what is the end game for those who are calling for a boycott of Target? No stores should sell anything that indicates support for gay people?
I think the point here is how target chose to over promote their gay pride line. It’s front and center and over the top. They are doing a publicity stunt. I know a few moms who won’t shop in target during this month because of how far target chose to go with it.
Sell it realistically as it represents the true numbers instead of making it BIG. It seems like they’re just looking for news coverage. They don’t give a shit about gays that much.
Over promoting would be oiled up dudes in banana hammock speedos dancing to club music as you enter, this is just rainbow stuff where they have the seasonal stuff for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, Thanksgiving, etc.
Seeing as how I always see the Halloween and Christmas stuff on steep markdown after those holidays, maybe they need to consider that for other things people apparently dont care about, like Christmas and Halloween.
Crap. I wish you wouldn’t have posted that description. Target reps are surely going to use these ideas next gay season. But for real, Target has a huge display of gayness. And they have large gay pictures all over. Go check it out. You’ll fall in love with target all over again.
What is a gay picture? Is that a picture that is attracted to the same gender of picture? Do pictures have genders now? They gone woke with gender ideology?
If not an obsession constantly posting on a message board or threatening to or actually boycotting a company because it sells a product targeting (pun intended) or using a member of an extremely small minority to promote one of it's products is still indicative of a bizarre negative interest in said demographic.
Hmmmm. Do you think Target is using using LTGBQ to promote a product, or using a product to promote LGTBQ? Has target ever promoted Heterosexuality? I have never seen an “I love Boobs” shirt in the men’s section. I have never seen a “camel toe” themed jumper in the kids aisle…. But I don’t really shop at Target much, so maybe I missed it.
Objecting to front of store promotion is not the same as demanding that it be hidden. That’s not an either or scenario.
