Awww man. One of the best pair of legs ever and apparently a beautiful soul.

 

I hope she found true happiness in Switzerland. She ha a rather rough start in adulthood.

 

A true legend. RIP to her

 

I think I read where she did...really loved being in Switz. Unfort..don't think her children and her had a great relationship. I seem to recall hearing the suggestion that she wasn't engaged as a parent...could be wrong on that. Regardless, we all have our struggles...her marriage to Ike was very unfort.

Tina had such a beautiful, soulful voice. What's love got to do with it; We dont need another hero; Simply the best.....the list of her amazing songs goes on and on.

And just like that....another person from my childhood is gone.

 

Sometimes you have to leave a good job in the city working for the man every night and day and move to Switzerland

I didn’t even know about this Switzerland thing until I just googled her name because of this thread. It came back with the description “Swiss singer”, and I was like, “Google, don’t be an idiot, the American one!”

? He's been dead for like 15-20 years I think. Was he haunting her house or something?

 

Some scars you live with for the rest of your life.
As she recounted in her memoir, “I, Tina,” Ike began hitting her not long after they met, in the mid-1950s, and only grew more vicious.
Provoked by anything and anyone, he would throw hot coffee in her face, choke her, or beat her until her eyes were swollen shut, then rape her.
Before one show, he broke her jaw and she went on stage with her mouth full of blood.

The one I most remember from my youth is Ike and Tina's "I Think It's Gonna Work Out Fine." Of course, with Ike it didn't work out so fine. But things worked out fine for her post-Ike. RIP.

This doesnt include dozens of musicians from numerous bands. (My playlist only includes voices as in lead singers or solo artists) i did include EVH because he is so iconic.

Its like a who's who of 80's and 90's music is gone. And you'd be amazed at how many of those one hit wonders we all think about are also gone. The number is much higher if all of those are included.

 

When Ike died, they put a wreath on his door and George Jones sang "He Stopped Beating Her Today."
