Spoiler Alert ... this thread will probably be packed with Spoilers if you are not caught up on the series ... They left a lot of story lines hanging for the final episode... guess the big ones are ... Who will take over the company? Will the merger happen? Who's going to be the president? Is the country going to war with itself over the election? Fun stuff ... My guesses are No Merger, the crazy right winger is declared the winner, riots get out of hand ... and I'm going with dark horse candidate Greg as the next CEO ... the theory being that his elderly grandpa is either going to die and leave him his shares, and was "grooming" him for the job by making him work there, or his side of the family will have enough shares to control the board after Kendall sold all those shares in prior seasons ... But then you have to wonder if Kendall will ever pay for killing that waiter, too ... seems like he's going to get away with it...
My wife is passionate about the show and here is her expert opinion. Fair warning she never guesses well. 1. Ken 2. No 3. Menken 4. Yes
Logan comes out of the coffin and continues his reign. Kendall is a little **** about it, does some whining, does some drugs, uses a lot of language designed to sound like something a smart, deserving CEO would say (then when you analyze what he said, you realize he said nothing). Roman makes a sick joke, apologizing to his father for having sex with his corpse. Shiv has an ironic look on her face. Credits.
I predict only that it will be a spectacular Kendall success or flameout. I base that on Kara Swisher saying on the official podcast that Jeremy “Method” Strong will be the only guest on the postseason wrap up episode next week. Think Shiv will get rejected by Tom. No reverse Viking. Connor set for South Sudan outpost
I think flameout for Kendall ... when he briefly took power a couple seasons ago, he did all sorts of things that made Logal call him an "f'in moron" when he got well, making deals that involved water down the family's shares and giving away board seats to outsiders, and those things are going to come back to haunt him ... I hope. I hate that family. I want them all to die in the end, but I think that's asking too much.
Going out on a limb here! I say Shiv sacrifices her political ideals, and she and Tom take control with their kid next in line. They might be the two most power hungry people on the show, and it wouldn’t be as obvious as Kendall taking it, which seems to be what’s being signaled.
I've rarely hated a show more than this. I watched until this season cuz my wife likes it. I hate em all & I hope they all die! painfully
Something else occurred to me ... they never read his full will, right? Bombshell moment in that? I remember they said there was a handwritten amendment involving Greg, but never explained it, I think.... I really think there is something brewing with Greg ... Him and Tom were the only ones 100% loyal.
It was my hatred of the characters that kept me from ever enjoying it. I rilly caint like a show in those circumstances. It wasn't just hate, I found them all 2D with no real interests for living. I tolerated it cuz like I said my wife likes it. flip side, I've enjoyed bad shows due to likeable characters. It made me feel gross, empty & depressed.
Listening to the podcast as often as I have as well as other podcasts, it's always so weird to hear Sarah Snook and Matthew McFayden in their native accents, and to realize that Kieran Culkin is a normal human being. Plus Brian Cox was in the Royal Shakespeare Company and now people just want to hear him say "F#$& off"
You’re supposed to hate them. They are the most dangerous kind of people: idiots who think themselves smart but, unfortunately, have power. The least harmful is Connor, and he’s the idiot who thought he should be President. Kendall is by far the most punchable of the idiot children.
He's the only one in a semi healthy relationship. And I didn't know this about the actor until this season and it still blows my mind
Personally, Roman is more punchable than Kendall. Kendall is more like Theon from GoT, I have a certain level of sympathy for him despite the douchebaggery.
Roman is weak and seems to know it. Kendall tries to be a bully tough guy at times even though he’s just as weak and stupid as his brother. The Kendall personality demands a good ass kicking to a far greater degree in my opinion (which speaks highly of the quality of acting).
Im usually wrong on this stuff but - the election goes the other way as absentee and mailin votes are counted. ATN loses credibility and massive equity, Mattson buys them out, Ken and Roman are out, Shiv, the brightest of the three becomes CEO. BTW, one strategy of team Trump was to declare themselves winners on election night, knowing mail in ballots favored Democrats. I actually felt sympathy for Roman at his meltdown at the memorial, the only time during the entire series. Superb acting and directing.
