East Carolina had one of their starting pitchers ejected for handing a batter a PB&J after rounding the bases on a homerun. Have we gone too far? East Carolina star pitcher ejected from AAC tournament game for bizarre reason "Grosz is the No. 3 AAC prospect in the 2023 MLB Draft, according to Baseball America. He was 4-2 this season with a 3.49 ERA in 14 appearances. He had a career-high 74 strikeouts."
If I was the AAC, I'd only have PB&J sandwiches available for the umps to eat in the prep room for the rest of the tourney.
It sounds ridiculous; looked completely harmless. I get that people don't like any form of ridiculous celebrations, but who and how are we supposed to draw the lines? Why on Earth would anybody want to leave this sort of thing up to the umpires who are rapidly adding this stuff to the slew of inconsistent calls they make collectively? This is the kind of thing somebody dreamed up in a conference room with zero thought about how messed up it would end up being in practical implementation. You don't like celebrations, manage that within your own team internally. Don't like the other team celebrating? Play better. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Love this comment: "They can see a kid eat a sandwich but can't see a slider 3 inches outside and call it a strike." Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Geesh--if it had been the Gators the who team would have been ejected by some of the umps this year!!
Pretty close, apparently they are now saying it was a hotdog. College baseball pitcher ejected for hot dog home run celebration
