ESPN ranks college football's top 75 quarterbacks of the 2000s 1. Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma 2. Cam Newton, Auburn 3. Vince Young, Texas 4. Tim Tebow, Florida Years: 2006-09 Stats: 9,285 passing yards, 66% completion rate, 88 TD, 16 INT, 2,947 rushing yards, 57 rushing TD In 2006, Tebow served as short-yardage back and scary red zone passing option as Florida won the national title. In 2007, he posted 4,181 combined rushing and passing yards and won the Heisman. In 2008, he gave an immortal speech and led the Gators to a 13-1 record and second title. In 2009, he led the Gators to another 13-1 record, posted 3,805 rushing and passing yards and finished in the Heisman top five for a third straight year. It's almost impossible to put together a career more complete than that.
30. Rex Grossman, Florida Years: 2000-02 Stats: 9,164 passing yards, 61% completion rate, 77 TD, 36 INT, 6 rushing TD His résumé was almost a lot better: He lost the 2001 Heisman vote to Crouch by just 62 points, and his Gators came up two points short of a BCS title game bid the same year. Still, he left a legacy as the last great Steve Spurrier QB.
48. Kyle Trask, Florida Years: 2018-20 Stats: 7,386 passing yards, 68% completion rate, 69 TD, 15 INT, 8 rushing TD A recruiting afterthought, Trask was already a junior when he got an audition following an injury to starter Feleipe Franks ... and he threw for more than 7,000 yards in the next 22 games. Quite the audition.
I don’t have too much of a problem with Cam or Vince being that high because those guys were truly transcendent. But Baker?? C’mon…he was the definition of a system QB.
No one will want to hear this but Cam Newton played with one of the worst offensive rosters of any good QB ever.
Did I miss a link to the complete list? Thinking Joe Burrow should be pretty high up there. The #s he put up in their championship season were outstanding.

Where did Chris Leak rank on this list? Leak was another great quarterback at UF, too! Here are many of Chris Leak's accolades to his credit: - played as a true freshman quarterback and started for 10+ games for the Gators. - In 2003, he guided the Gators with wins over three-straight top 11 teams (at #6 LSU, at #11 Arkansas, #4 Georgia(Jax); noticed that none of those wins were at home. At most places, that kind of achievement would have started a Heisman campaign for their true freshman player. - In 2004, Leak had statistically his best season at Florida as a sophmore (similar to Grossman's & Tebow's sophmore campaigns): 3197 passing, 29 TD/12 ints. - Also in 2004, Leak guided Florida to a milestone win over Florida State, the Gators first win in Tallahassee since 1986 (a period of 18 years). - After adjusting to Meyer's offense in 2005, Leak guided Florida to the 2006 SEC title and the 2006 BCS National title (2nd since 1996). - In the Florida passing record books, Chris Leak is ranked #1 in passing yardage (11, 213) and tied for #2 in passing TD's (88 along with Tim Tebow).
Chis Leak was an amazing QB but never received the accolades he deserved.Met him in Atlanta ...really nice guy.
