You want schools to teach black history but it would be racist for a school to teach white history. You want to give black applicants to college preference because ….they don’t have the skill or intelligence to make it on their own? Black scholarship are great, white scholarships are racist. Black people can use words directed at other black and it’s ok, but those same words from a white mouth are racist. Ron Desantis is racist because he wants to eliminate an immutable characteristic (race) from the public sector and treat people on their character and merit. No, I temporarily am siding with non-libertarian tactics because it is the only way in today's climate to achieve a long-term libertarian outcome. Sometimes, the only way to achieve both peace and freedom is through war. This may not be a war with guns or violence, but it's a war nonetheless.

The right and left are at war and it’s going to continue on for a while. Compromise died long ago and now it’s everyone for their side no matter how it affects the other. I’ve given up on discussing politics, religion, and social issues with people in person. Nothing good has come from it for a while. The only reason I read and sometimes comment here is to hear the opinions of the right and left. I used to get the Tampa Bay Times paper until they went full on left. Now all they print is about what’s discussed here but from one sides opinion.
I never called myself a pacifist. And if a libertarian is someone that believes government should never use its power and authority to achieve a libertarian end, then I guess I was never a libertarian, but that's not how I define it. I'd say I'm more like a peace and freedom-loving person who is willing to go to war to achieve long-term peace and freedom at the expense of temporary peace. Freedom is not really a cost in this decision because the alternative was freedom being stripped anyways by the other side.

I'm just doing exactly what you're doing with the exception that I'm honest about it. I don't redefine any inconvenient application of rights as not rights, and any convenient application of rights (regardless of whether it's correct) as rights. I will trust the decision of the courts regardless of how it goes. And I know the system will play out as it's supposed to. But I'm not standing between DeSantis and people like you.
