By: Eric Fawcett -- May 18, 2023 For players hoping to get drafted to the NBA the goal is to get an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine. Unfortunately, neither Colin Castleton or Alex Fudge were able to secure one of the heavily sought after invitations. Fortunately, they were both invited to the G League Elite Camp which takes place the week prior to the NBA Combine and gives players a chance to earn an invitation to the NBA Combine. I think Castleton would have been a locked in first round pick if he had been able to knock down threes at least at 33-35%. He’ll make a roster though. His other skills are too good. Without a three point shot he could still be a solid backup.
Yeah, he'll be fine. Excellent shot-blocker and pretty good skills as a passer and low-block scorer. The thing about the NBA is, you can train with the staff full-time all year, and you have more time to develop and work on skills. He may never be a good 3-point shooter, but it was often said that he could knock them down in practice. So who knows?
Yeah - I think CC's stroke is good enough that he could become a reasonable 3pt shooter if he puts in the reps.
Yeah, I don’t understand why he was such a low % three point shooter in college. Frequency is probably a culprit. I’m guessing a lot of his misses were 0/1 games and he didn’t try another. Even scrubs hit better than he did, so I’m not going to put too much into it.
