I dont want to give any mid a host after Coastal,,but they gave 3 mids last year. Ind St 10 rpi, just dont see them leaving them out, but hope so..lol DBU not as high 17.. No issue giving their spot to another B12. Heres my thinking on AU, Bama, UK, SC, I didnt want to give SC one either First off , I feel like Im over valuing teams starting at 10,,until I try to replce them..lol Those 4 SEC teams are essentially a tie IMO.. Almost same records(SEC) RPIs range from 2 to 15..again minimal seperation in grand scheme. SOS;s from 1` to 14, again splitting hairs Now the difference UK - 4-6 in SEC series, lost 5 of last 6 series, going 8-10 SC - 4-5-1 in SEC series lost 5 of last 6 going 7-11 Bama - 5-5 in SEC series. Won 5 of last 6 going 12-6 AU - 6-4 in SEC series. Won last 5 straight, but to be fair 5 of last 6. going 13-5 Im a big RPI defender, but there are also times I aint buying it.. UK fits that .lol Ind St too really. UK & IND St are each others best OOC opp. Who did UK beat OOC other than Ind St?? I know 9 OOC SOS,not buying that either. But no issue if give them ISU or DBU spot,,but that makes 8 SEC, never gotten more than 7. UK & SC have won 1 series over last 6 weeks. The ELO doesnt like UK or SC much FWTW UK 17 , SC 29
Agree about the seeding. But the SEC tournament is a chance to get some of our guys' swings back right. Can't rely on 3-4 guys carrying the load.
"Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." - Vince Lombardi. If Gators or Hogs go 4-0 and win SEC tournament and Wake goes 2&Q in ACC tournament, the #1 overall seed might still be reachable. Gators also need to win at least one of the first two to ensure a third and get Jac a start -- he's hot right now on the bump and a week off can only hurt.
Agree wing—the main thing for the Gators at this point is play the games in front of you to stay sharp and focused while picking up no injuries.
Unless you are a bubble team, I dont think the SECs are all that important. Always want to win, but dont sweat it, give your starters some work, but keep them fresh, play your entire roster and get ready for round #1 in Gville.
UF is a top 8 national seed lock. However, the higher the seed, the better. Since UF has to be in Hoover, the Gators might as well win the tourney. Beating Alabama or Kentucky in UF's opening round won't be easy. Both teams are going to Hoover to try to lock down a top 16 seed hosting slot.
UF has to be in Hoover.....but they don't have to be there 5 days and play 5 games and wear out the staff, so one could certainly argue the value of winning the tourney isn't worth the wear and tear on the roster. Especially considering we have national seed locked up and the reality is that seeding is often a roll of the dice anyway. What if the overall 1 seed draws a hot and rising SEC opponent in the supers like Auburn, Bama, UK .....while the 2 seed gets a Boston College or Indiana St? So many variables when it comes to seeding I just want to be sure we are at home and then see where the chips fall. Edit...just saw todays D1 projection 2 seeded UF paired with BC, 1 seed gets Texas in supers, 3 seed gets Bama...total crapshoot
UK a 9...wow .. but no SC.. So a 2 RPI trumps a 6 RPI even though 1/2 game back in SEC?? interesting D1 moved UK up a spot for losing series at hoome..lol typical I knew Texas would sneak in there w/ a sweep. I had 14 of T 16 btw... Still not buying UK espec w/ no SC. Whats hte diff. other than 4 RPI spots??
Florida Baseball: Gators in USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll Week 14 D1Baseball Field of 64 Projections: May 22 • D1Baseball
I see they have the sooners as a bubble team. Would be something if last years finalists, okla and ole miss don't make it.
I will be if not in the one that counts, but still hope not Their metrics are no diffrent this week than last week when both in T16.. Ga Southern last year pre NCAAT..19 RPi 5-10 v Q1.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment, but Fresno State is not in a good shape to make the NCAA Tournament. At least they have a winning record and are still alive in their conference tournament as of today. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Would love to go to The Sunken Diamond.. almost to easy. Or Texas come to Plains,,, not as easy..lol NC prob 2nd best team of those 8 Miami gos up to 11 IMO.. not that this is official or anything..
