No, put down the crack pipe. That’s not what I said. Please change your shorts and underwear, put them in the washer, start it, and go back to re-read.

A couple professors (one at Harvard and the other at UConn) also studied the issue and actually found that a higher percentage were peaceful than the other study did:
    https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2020/oct/20/erica-chenoweth-and-jeremy-pressman-black-lives-ma/
In short, our data suggest that 96.3% of events involved no property damage or police injuries, and in 97.7% of events, no injuries were reported among participants, bystanders or police.
    -----------------------------------------------
But I know, you feel like it's not true. And as we all know, feelings trump data.

Doesn’t change the fact, Joe is Still 1000% better than the guy you voted for. Just take your L like a man, and don’t whine so much about it…

Do you know what constitutes a protest? I.e was Portland a protest or every night in Portland? Crazy libtard outliers skewing the numbers for the Nationalists ;)
I agree on the perception vs reality of the numbers is based on the same clip being shown over and over again.

I mean it all depends. A flight is peaceful until the hijackers stand up.

The end result of a protest will be what it is remembered for.

I do find it ironic that some of the same people trying to parse this out are among those who minimized Jan 6. But I guess that shouldn’t be surprising.

A perhaps more apt metaphor than was intended. Because in most cases in which there was violence at or adjacent to the protest, it was anarchists with little care or connection to the BLM message. In other more limited instances, it was those of the opposite sentiment, seeking to discredit the sentiment. Also, cops. IOW, "hijacking" the BLM protest.

We wouldn't morally condemn the concept of air travel due to hijackers. Covered all this before

Russia isn’t communist. I keep seeing old cons say this. They were communist. Now they’re more fascist than anything. But the term most people use is oligarchy.

Doesn't make any sense. So, all the passengers are now considered violent because of the hijackers? Another BLACK OR WHITE decision. No gray, huh? I'll say it again, everyone on both sides needs to stop the black or white garbage. All or nothing. Stupid.

We agree. Just pointing out that the end result is likely how history will remember it.

We agree my friend. My point was that regardless of how something may seem all along that the end result is all we remember. (The hijacker metaphor was a poor choice.)

Fascists and communism touch at the back of the circle opposite democracy.

It’s a pretty significant distinction - you can’t just wave that misunderstanding away by saying they’d be listed near each other lol.

A difference that makes no difference isn’t a difference.

“But the term most people use [for Russia] is oligarchy.”

At least we have an oligarchy with time limits.

Also, praise Jesus we don’t live under fascism. Otherwise we would have woken up in a country where we weren’t allowed to open our businesses, weren’t allowed to send our kids to school, weren’t allowed to attend church, weren’t allowed to comfort our dying and weren’t allowed to bury our dead.

Are they though? In both cases, populations are slaves to the state

An interesting case is Russia, which today much more resembles a fascist state than the communism of the Soviet Union. Is the population of Russia any more “free” in Putin’s Russia vs. the old USSR? I guess there is no “committee” nonsense dictating things at the local level as there was in the communist system, but big business only gets done at the whims of the state in both systems. As we also see, the authoritatian state media ends up with iron curtain like qualities (massive misinformation, expulsion of foreign journalism, forced closure of independent domestic journalism, criminal penalties for “unfriendly” stories, etc).
