I wont llie, im pulling for LSU to lose

 

they are totally the most unsportsmanlike athletic program in the country….

 

Maybe they were never developed or given a decent chance. Lots of “head scratchers” over season and last season as well.

 

20 players on the roster today, with 8 for sure leaving and 6 freshmen coming in. That's 18 players, and my guess is a couple of those will transfer out. Most SEC teams have rosters of 24-26, including 6-7 pitchers, so there's a lot of room for Walton to hit the portal hard - not just to add bodies, but to bring in ladies who can play in the SEC, including a pitcher or 2.

 

How about a coach or 2.

 

Most all of us knew by early mid season that this edition of the girls softball just did not have that ‘it’ factor. So it was just a matter of how much success they could squeeze out of the Season. We further knew that this team didn’t have a fighters chance of advancing any distance in the tourney. So it was just a matter of how quick do things end , the team get home and the H/C begin to do some soul searching with regard to his staff and the future. There IS an incredible class already signed and the next one lined up. The talent appears to be ‘on the way’. Now we will see if HE is going to ‘stand pat’ with his staff or if he is going to shake things up. THEN , we will see if those signees stick with the program or they look to get out of their commitments and go in search of a staff that actually develops them. Time will tell if Walton is going to turn this thing around or not.

 

LSU game is crazy. Pitcher kept throwing strikes when trying to intentionally walk a batter and gave up 2 runs because of it.

I love seeing LSU lose…doesn’t matter the sport.

 

If I'm a two-time WCWS championship-winning coach that has made a living dominating the SEC and almost always reaching OKC and I notice my program slip to not being ranked, finish in the bottom half of the conference standings, and get eliminated in the regionals via 2 blowout losses. I would be kicking everyone off my current staff. lol

 

The SEC has fallen off along with our slide. We carried the SEC for a long time as being that dominant program that will reach OKC and win multiple games while there. Now that our program has slipped big time, the SEC's prestige has appeared to slip as well.

 

Having travelled to GNV for the game at the Swamp, I still haven't forgiven LSU for stealing a home game in 2016 blaming Hurricane Matthew.

And attention junkie Deangelo Sanchez is just plain annoying, worse than the Vandy whistler.

There's lots to dislike about LSU.

 

With softball being an equivalency sport rather than a headcount sport there's probably some finesse involved in getting bodies. And with NIL, things are just going to get more complicated.

 

Try living in Baton Rouge and having to hear about their teams and hear their fans whine every day. lol

I gather from your comment that you have a different opinion. That is fine. You stick to yours and we’ll see how things turn out. There have been great successes in the past that some how lost their mojo, edge, staff etc, they couldn’t recapture it , and they wound up forced out. HOPE that that won’t be the case here. But I’m not of the school of thought that once a Coach wins a title, or two, that he just gets to write his own ticket. Tim won a couple with a great staff. Those key people left. Now it’s been several years of decline in both pitching effectiveness and offensive stats. He, and you, may think he has the right to stand pat. And he may. But if he does and the situations don’t improve OR gets worse in spite of the infusion of talent that’s coming, well that won’t be a good look for him.

 

To me, it is way too late to stand pat. That ship sailed 3-4 years ago.
What must eventually be done should be done now. And now is late IMO.
