Not feeling confident about this commitment.

 

He has a better opportunity to be RB1 sooner in our RB room with Johnson probably gone after this year and Etienne after next.

 

@bobbybaker86 we recruiting WR Jerome Bettis Jr. ? Figured he's Myles Graham's teammate so that can't hurt.

IF we lose Bowen’s to UGLY, the pressure to produce wins on the field sooner rather than later is going to ratchet on up I suspect. We simply CANNOT go 3-4 more year’s ‘redeveloping’ the ‘brand’ to finally get to a place that we can compete against the Bammers and the Mutts to gain the players we need. The NIL folk are going to have to get it in gear and we are going to have to figure out how to get these kids in O & B.

It’s not really a surprise. He was always the one we needed to worry about. Just need to do our best to hang on to him for 7 more months. No pressure.

 

We're still flirting with Gibson, Danzy and a few others. His OV to UF is on the 16th...the week after his UGA visit.
The only other RB scheduled to OV UF in June is Kahnen Daniels (on the 16th too). We wrap both of them up that weekend.

 

Though he is really talented, even if he went with UGLY, I don't see a Bowens defection having significant meaning to the reality or perception of UF recruiting, as CBN's recruiting prowess is really starting to show. We are in great shape with a lot of top guys, and the successive backup plans to the top recruits continue to rise in the rankings of the services as well. It shows how well CNB does talent evaluation and targeting early on, not drawn just from rankings. Kirby loves to try to mess with our recruiting by taking top recruits that have a natural inclination to UF or are our targets, but in the end I don't think it will mean much. Like Heyward was taken early by UGLY though he likes the FL schools, but UF likely won't even have to go after him once UGLY picks up another top safety and drops him, with the haul we are getting at safety.

 

Man we are loading up with official visits in June. Perhaps too many too early? I kind of prefer the OV later in the season (game days) as well as being the last and not first visit. Maybe it is just me being gun shy after Mullens big June visit month in 2021 that had us taking the lead for every stud, only to see them lean and go elsewhere after visiting other schools.

 

Well Mullen sucked at recruiting so maybe there won’t be much similarities

Totally agree. Take as many visits as you want. Enjoy the special time in your life. Get as much out of it as you can. But once you commit, you’re committed. It’s what the word means. You visit any of the rival schools after you’ve committed, then by definition you aren’t committed anymore, if you ever were at all

 

Hi Spike - I "read you" but I'm glad CBN is hitting it hard and early.
We can't be influenced by Mullens previous recruiting efforts. This is coach's third cycle and he should have a great feel for what he wants to get done, when and how, this cycle.

While UF is making many terriffic contacts, I think we need a big "bump" in June.

We are now falling out of the top 10 in 24 other than On3 so I'm hopeful we get 1/2 dozen commits by the end of June and vault back up with the leaders.

 

I check this site probably 20 times per day hoping for news of new commits. This is the worst time of the year for people who don't care about baseball or basketball
