Women’s right to “kill an unborn child.”
DeSantis is fighting so schools can teach “actual history.” Not this out-of-context history where the founders were the only ones who did bad things.
Parents’ ability to castrate their children.
Disney’s privilege to a special tax district.
The state government deciding what books can be offered in school libraries, not what books kids can read or bring to school.

This is why we don’t give a crap about what you guys say anymore. Every little thing is a damned crisis and characterizes us as evil people.

You don’t like the new Republican Party, you shouldn’t have completey blown your credibility, you shouldn’t have tried to indoctrinate kids, and you shouldn’t have tried to institutionally deplatform conservatives

Almost this entire board either openly did all of these things or provided cover for people doing those things. Now these same people are crying for us to step between them and the guy standing up to them citing the classically liberal values I’ve been preaching my entire adult life and in spite of their actions shitting on them. I’m not going to protect them from a Hell of their own making knowing damned well they will crap on these very same values in the name of “equal rights” the second DeSantis goes away. Sorry, you don't get to take a massive shit on the rules in the name of some "greater good" that actually just means agenda items then lean on them when it comes back to bite you in the ass.

Agree to the values we’ve been preaching, or eat the consequences of your own.

If a removal in school based on appropriateness for a child is a “ban,” then why would adult content not qualify as a ban?

That is specifically a ban based on appropriateness for children.

If you think DeSantis or Trump just came out of nowhere, you’re the one who needs a look in the mirror.

But California is, which requires publicly traded companies to have one member of certain “marginalized groups” on their board?

That doesn’t sound free to me. Yet none of you guys throw a temper tantrum about that, and I think it’s because you like it.

Absolute stupidity when presented with the simplest of logic because the conclusion is not a desired one.

I see no reason to engage in a dialog with you. You never admit you're wrong and you never acknowledge the merits of an opposing argument. When cornered, you resort to rhetoric tricks to save face. Ick.

I definitely do and have admitted that I am wrong.

I just don't admit that I'm wrong when I'm not wrong.

Seriously? Public companies must have ONE minority on their board? I’m not a fan of affirmative action type mandates like that, but how high of a bar is this? Publicly traded companies is a relatively small universe. It’s not an attack on individual liberty or freedom. It’s a business regulation. The ones that didn’t already have someone on their board is a subset of that already small universe. So… the only impacted parties are the good ole boy networks where the board is 100% old stodgy white guys who probably aren’t particularly qualified for their board positions either (because board seats are bs and not based on tangible qualifications half the time anyway). Boo friggen hoo. Strange hill to die on. “Freedom” lover.

    Not one.

Women on Boards :: California Secretary of State

"In 2018, Women on Boards (SB 826) was signed into law to advance equitable gender representation on California corporate boards. California led the way as the first state in the nation to require all publicly held domestic or foreign corporations whose principal executive offices are located in California to have at least one female director on their boards by December 31, 2019, either by filling an open seat or by adding a seat."

Underrepresented Communities on Boards :: California Secretary of State

"By December 31, 2021, Underrepresented Communities on Boards (AB 979) requires all publicly held domestic or foreign corporations whose principal executive offices are located in California to have at least one director from an underrepresented community on their boards, either by filling an open seat or by adding a seat. By December 31, 2022, such publicly held corporations will be required to have minimum numbers of directors from underrepresented communities based on the total size of the corporation's board of directors.

A director from an underrepresented community is an individual who self-identifies as Black, African American, Hispanic, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Alaska Native, or who self-identifies as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender."

    So is Disney.

It's policy, as is the revocation or attempted revocation of Disney's special tax district.

And there you go. "Our version is good because we're sticking it to the bad guys, the stodgy white guys."

As predicted, once again cover for Democrats while whining about Democrats getting a taste of their own medicine.

Women can do as they please for their health care. I assume you are one who supports the legal killing of the life inside them after they created it.

    Nonsense about teaching history.

A child's gender is their gender. It is concerning you would even think otherwise.

Disney can do as they please.

Any parent can get any book for their kid to read they wish.

Goodness you all do understand how dangerous he is to your socialist utopia.

Poster claims that denial of First Amendment rights is policy, or business regulation and therefore NOT an attack on rights? LOL As if his use of definitions changes the reality.

    Irrelevant to his point.

False equivalency. Not all policies/regulations are equal because they are policies/regulations.

Strawman. That's not what he said.

    Ad hominem. Loaded language.

    You just can't help yourself.

I think DeS's wildly disproportionate response to Disney's criticism of his policies is proof that he's temperamentally unsuited to be president. His cannons aren't just loose, they're careening across the deck and smashing through the railings.

Yep, Chick-Fil-A in multiple cities throughout the country doesn't count, Walgreens in California doesn't count, board diversity quotas doesn't count, but attempted revocation of a special tax district of one mega corporation in Florida counts.

And you wonder why we don't trust you. :)

Not a point I made, a point this poster made.

I was specifically attacking that point.

I swear, this place is getting more stupid by the day.
