And much like the NFL model, overpaying for the top. Running back in the league is not the way to win championships. Other positions are far more important.
Interesting. Only hosting 10 in-State players out of 33 doesn't seem like a way to start winning back the State, unless they are planning on hosting FL players at a later date. I wonder how many of these out-of-State players are using that Official visit just to visit the great State of Florida.
I haven’t seen Stone listed with an OV to Uf but in this article he says he may be here June 2nd weekend. Would be huge. Florida five-star DT David Stone sets two official visit dates - Recruiting News Guru
Does it make you feel better that UF can give out 22 more official visits all of which can go to Florida high schoolers? You'd rather not have arguably the top QB, RB, WR, S, CB and DL in the country visiting on the same day? We should split out the top ranked out-of-staters in a separate date to make our lower ranked Florida recruits feel more love? I would rather get the top recruiting class that has the best chance of winning us championships over getting the most top 50 Florida players. That's just me (and hopefully CBN).
Look at the current commits. Only three out of eight are from Florida. The current offer list is heavy on Georgia and Texas prospects. Who cares where they come from? Until we're competing for championships, we won't be competitive with UGA, BAMA and OSU recruiting in Florida.
surface level yourself right but when you look at the 247 list of too kids from the state of Florida MINUS the IMG kids, we’re sitting good with quite a few of those kids tbh
If we can't compete with those institutions in FL then why would you believe we can be more successful against them in other States? Until we start winning our fair share of head to head recruiting battles for top recruits in our own State against them it will be very difficult to be competitive with those schools where it really counts: on the field.
Sure...but isn't that part of the problem that should be addressed? If top FL players really aren't interested, what is the reason for that?
I always subtract the IMG players from the FL rankings too, but at least some also live in FL. The recruiting rankings make it difficult to tell where those players are actually from.
