You asked how Florida was winning.
    If not, my apologies.

Bling, we would need a completely different site if we wanted to seriously discuss the hypocrisy of both parties and ideologies.

I haven't read this whole thread. (DeSantis makes me sick to my stomach.) Let me just say that DeSantis has been portraying himself as a fascist as much as he can. I read a day or so ago that his strategy is to run "to the right" of Trump. Good Lord, let me correct myself. He's portraying himself as an ultra fascist. Which also means he's portraying himself as a complete idiot if he thinks this will get him the presidency.

ah. No I referring to the part I bolded. "Short-term loss on the jobs front that will correct itself"

I never got a response, because, let's be honest, there isn't one.

If you want to see a real world case study of what happens if one country is involved in free global trade (relatively speaking) and one is not, look no further than the difference in economies of North and South Korea.

NK is one of the least woke places on earth though. No infrastructure, lighting, or food either. But at least it’s not woke and there is none of that insufferable K-pop crap!

Not sure those 2000 creative minds really wanted to move to Florida anyway. Suspecting that Disney was hoping to recruit the UCF school of video game creators by moving to Lake Nona and planned on losing some of the higher cost, more experienced creators who culturally were never moving to Florida anyway.

One campus will not impact the state of Florida. What will, however, is the unending assault on the eduation system. For decades businesses did not want to move to Florida because they did not want their children growing up in a backwater, redneck state. After several decades of hard work, Florida has established one of the elite public universities in America, fed by a public schools system that used to rank near the bottom to one that ranks around the midpoint of states in the US, ahead of both California and Texas.

The attacks on that education system, more than anything else, will give future businesses pause when they think about putting or moving their operation in/to Florida. And, that is a problem.

If by "war of hate" you mean "war to protect the innocence and education of children," you would be correct.

And I think if you were to ask Floridian Republicans if they're willing to trade a little of the money in their pocket for schools preserving the innocence of children and not indoctrinating them, they would take that deal in a heartbeat.

    "It's just hot air.";)

As Democrats already know damn well, people believing you will retaliate against them is awfully powerful in itself without even necessarily violating the First Amendment.

Now, I'm a big believer in the spirit of the First Amendment through this culture where people are free to voice their opinion without having their lives ruined. You and frankly the Democratic Party clearly is not. So I'm not getting in DeSantis's way when he tries to send this "message" until he actually crosses the line for me. And there is a line where the other side's actions cannot possibly justify your own. But we're not there, and until we are there, enjoy.

Damn that is some serious hate talking points under the guise of save the children. Definitely have a problem with ultra woke running amok and union contracts making them tough to deal with. Uber religious also.
Having parties to celebrate every trans kid and too tok/ tube magnifying it or refusing to let your child date out of the church (or a rainbow coalition) are both outrageous.

    But tribes!!!
Tribalism ultimately leads to conflict because if one is always right then someone is always wrong.

Knowing what the slang term “woke” means I have to ask if you really think Florida is really a place where awareness goes to die? My opinion is that under DeSantis and the republicans the answer is a resounding yes.
