He was already drafted. He had very little to gain by doing this And where do you determine when someone becomes a good person versus a person just constantly doing good PR work?
There's a lot of potential $ to be gained for AR outside of football. Good news stories and having a positive rep can only help with gaining corporate sponsorships. I don't get what the gripes are about. I say let AR and the colts enjoy the honeymoon period.
Colts rookie Anthony Richardson impressed front office with this awesome display of character It got plenty of good press. https://www.gainesville.com/story/sports/columns/2023/ 05/15/colts-anthony- richardson-is-already-the-working-mans-nfl-rookie-of-the-year/70217706007/ All the way to UK lol Anthony Richardson has got NFL executive on side after classy gesture
One of the many reasons I and so many others love him. One of the many reasons I and many others come to his support while other Gators bash him.
AR had his issues last year. IMO, much of hi issues were due to CDM going all in on Emory the year before. Had AR started and gained experience the year before last ( instead of being thrown in against Georgia for his first meaningful experience), he would have been much further along this past year In any case, run or no run, our D was thin and absolutely terrible. (The worst Gator D i can remember) We could have had Brady as our QB and it wouldnt have made much of a difference. Best now to show class and support AR.
We all hope he kills it. I think your right that he should’ve played for Mullen. In hindsight it’s an easy choice. For AR though, it worked out just fine and he got big guaranteed money. Had he played two years and was still that rough, he would likely missed that big payday. As of now, he is very unproven but still getting paid. Congratulations and let’s hope he develops and makes it to that second contract. The worse that can happen now is he fails and is stuck with the 30 mil.
Wait until he starts chucking Hail Mary passes into the end zone seats or the stands st the 50 yard line - or why he choose to do that in college and not the pros. At some point he'll be playing for his stats and not the Colts. We'll be watching.
